Kansai University was founded as Kansai Law School in November 1886, in the large commercial city of Osaka. Its founders consisted of a dozen people who were judicial officers and businesspersons. Kansai University has seen remarkable development over its many years. Kansai University has 13 faculties, 13 graduate schools, three professional graduate schools, as well as a preparatory course for international students. Over its long history, all those involved in building its institution have had to overcome various hardships to achieve such prestigious standing.

We are pleased to inform you that the Application for Kansai University Engaged/Exchange Online Learning for Fall 2020 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

If you are interested in studying overseas but never had a chance to do so, you are seeking to meet Japanese peers to become friends, or wanting to participate in enriched, interactive learning in an international context, this opportunity is very suitable for you. The AASYP Reset is a free virtual innovation challenge inviting recent graduates, current university students, and young professionals of all disciplines across ASEAN and Australia to collaborate on projects that foster stronger people to people connections between youth in our region. The AASYP Reset will provide an opportunity for youth to develop their entrepreneurial capacity, build personal and professional connections, and showcase their creativity and innovation to a diverse public audience.

With support from the Australia-ASEAN Council, AASYP Reset aims to:

  • Encourage greater knowledge-sharing and network-building
  • Foster cross-cultural and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Upskill and support youth in the region to develop and scale ideas that have the potential to create long-term impact in their communities

Prizes

  • AASYP Reset Winner
    The winning team, as selected by the judging panel during the final pitch event, will receive $1000 AUD to support the implementation of their project.
  • AASYP Reset People’s Choice Winner
    The People’s Choice Winner will be determined through a live public voting process during the final pitch event and will receive $750 AUD to support the implementation of their project.

Who can apply?

Registrations are open to all Australian and ASEAN nationals aged 18-29. AAYSP RESET is looking for a diverse range of participants who are interested in developing their cross-cultural competencies and are passionate about strengthening people to people relations. AAYSP RESET strongly encourages recent graduates, current students, or young professionals or entrepreneurs in the early stages of your journey to get involved!

Registrations will open on 17 August 2020 and close Sunday 13 September 2020. There is no cost to participate.

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) was established to primarily develop and promote management education in Malaysia. Its academic programs are especially geared towards providing a broad spectrum of academic knowledge and intellectual skills. Greetings from ASEAN University Network-Kyoto University Committee!

“AUN-KU Winter Seminar on Human Security Development and Energy Science” is co-organized by the Graduate School of Energy Science (GSES) of Kyoto University and the ASEAN University Network-Kyoto University Student Mobility Program toward Human Security Development. It is designed for undergraduate students to study the concept of Human Security Development (HSD) and Energy Science. The main theme of this seminar is energy development, which is an important issue in Human Security Development. The participating students are expected to deepen their knowledge on human security development and energy science with the prospect of finding solutions to technological, socio-economic, and political issues in Asia specifically. The seminar will offer lectures and class discussions as well as organize field trips and cultural events. Applicants are not limited to engineering, economics, or science – all fields are welcome.

Date and Venue
11-23 January 2021, Kyoto University, Japan (Due to the spread of coronavirus infection, it is likely to be held online)

Costs (Only applicable for the physical event only. If the event is held online, the participation fee and other expenses will not be collected)

  1. Participation fee: JPY 10,000 This fee includes field studies, and other necessary expenses during the seminar. All participants should pay this fee in cash in JPY on the first day of the seminar.
  2. Participants are also required to organize and pay the following costs: (A round-trip flight ticket; Travel expenses between the airport (e.g. Kansai International Airport, Osaka International Airport), and Kyoto; Fees related to visa applications; Travel insurance; Cost of meals)
  3. Kyoto University will reserve a hotel for all participants. (Accommodation costs are covered by the program)

Scholarship (If the event is held online, the scholarship will not be given)

The 15 applicants as selected by the program committee will be eligible for a scholarship from JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization). The amount of this scholarship is JPY 80,000 per person (tentative).

Application Procedure

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to the Office of International Affairs, UGM for internal review.
  2. OIA UGM will evaluate your application.
  3. Once you are selected as Nominated Student, OIA will send your application to Ritsumeikan APU and you may proceed to the online application for host-university selection.
  4. The FINAL decision from Ritsumeikan APU.
Please register your application and send all documents above in softcopy (compiled in 1 PDF File) to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than September 15th, 2020. 
IMPORTANT NOTES:
  • Priority will be given to students who have decided to defer the exchange program from Fall Semester 2020 to Spring 2021 due to Covid-19 Pandemy Mobility Restriction Policy from Universitas Gadjah Mada.
  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
  • Application of outgoing mobility for fall/odd semester in AY 2020/2021 will be processed but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest development of COVID-19 and government’s regulation.

Greetings from Toyo University in Tokyo, Japan!

Toyo University began as a private “Philosophy Academy” has continued to preserve its founding spirit and continues to expand today. With approximately 30,000 students, it has become a large-scale general university consisting of 11 faculties with 44 departments, 10 graduate schools offering 32 majors, and the Law School. In each and every one of its faculties and graduate schools, the educational goals, and philosophies relating to the collective cultivation of individual minds are established based upon the spirit with which the university was founded.

We are pleased to inform you that the application for the Student Exchange Program for Spring 2021 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

Eligibility

  • 3rd to 6th-semester undergraduate students (S1)
  • Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program

Required Documents

  3. Application for Admission for Exchange Students *
  4. Academic Reference*
  5. Personal Statements)
  6. Official Academic Transcript (with the explanation of the evaluation)
  7. Colored Copy of Passport
  8. Japanese Language Proficiency (if applicable)
  9. Passport-size photo (4 pieces, 3.5 x 4.5 cm, white background color, taken within the past three months)

  13. English language proficiency (Min. Score of TOEFL – ITP=530, iBT 80 or IELTS 6.0)
