“Eco-Leadership for the Young Generation: Nurturing Sustainable Futures”

Yogyakarta, 10 – 24 July 2024

Starting from Universitas Gadjah Mada’s commitment to participate in introducing cultural diversity and education in Indonesia as well as contributing the the ASEAN community, UGM under the coordination of the Office of International Affairs, Directorate of Partnership and Global Relations, welcomes students from the ASEAN University Network (AUN), member universities to participate in the AUN Summer Camp 2024 which will be held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from 10 until 24 of July 2024.

AUN Summer Camp at Universitas Gadjah Mada offers a different concept of summer program, in which students have the knowledge not only of theoretical teaching carried out in the classroom, but students are also given the opportunity to directly participate in the field. For two weeks, students will be involved in various activities such as public lectures, community service, and excursions. With the theme Eco-Leadership for the Young Generation: Nurturing Sustainable Futures, emphasizing on the importance of nurturing young environmental leaders, and inspiring a worldwide movement for sustainability. In a world where environmental challenges are growing led to eco-conscious generations, increased environmental awareness, and a renewed global commitment to protecting the planet.

Through this program, students from around the ASEAN region can learn more about this issue and its real situation in the community. The younger generation has a very important part in the society, where their presence and role is now being more considered. By understanding various ways of nurturing sustainable futures, participants could share, if not yet implementing, their knowledge and experience when they return to their hometown to then inspire their surroundings. The program will be coached by representatives from educators, policymakers, civil society, social activists and researchers involved in a series of discussion and sharing ideas, opportunities and obstacles in the relationships between their respective spheres of influence.

Program Activities: 

AUN Summer Camp at UGM will be held in 2 sessions:

Application Procedures:

  1. Kindly contact your Office of International Affairs for internal selection. 
  2. Nomination Form must be submitted by your respective home university AUN member. 
  3. Upon nomination, UGM will send application instructions to the nominated students.
  4. Students nominated must submit their application online by the deadline.
  5. Final results will be notified to Home University and selected students.
