Meiji University, which will celebrate its 140th anniversary in 2021, is a comprehensive university that has received high praise from home and abroad as one of the “Tokyo Big6”. The Meiji University Japanese Language Education Center will hold an online intensive Japanese Language program from February to March 2021.

 

 This program focuses on interactive Japanese language learning using the online conferencing system (Zoom), and improves overall Japanese proficiency through on-demand assignments and interaction with Meiji University students. Participants are expected to equip Japanese Language Skills as well as to deepen understanding of various topics by listening and reading in Japanese, and talk with Japanese students and write on SNS what you learned and felt in the classes. Through studying Japanese, they can deepen their understanding of Japanese culture a

Program Levels

 

  • Beginner’s class (A2 level in CEFR scale) :JLPT* N4 level
    • Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
    • Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
    • Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

 

  • Pre-intermediate’s class (B1 level in CEFR scale):JLPT* N3~N2 level
    • Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
    • Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.
    • Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.
    • Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

 

The class will be allocated based on the result of Japanese online test conducted after the application. And a certificate will be issued to the participants who meet a requirement.

 

*JLPT: Japanese Language Proficiency Test.

AsTW is a two-week study program at the undergraduate level, designed to deepen understanding of ASEAN and East Asian affairs. Since 2009, the Kyushu University has organized the program with our partner universities in ASEAN countries, in cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat and – the ASEAN University Network (AUN).

 

Due to the spread of COVID-19 across the globe, AsTW 2021 will be held ONLINE from 8th to 19th March. The medium of instruction is English.  The Kyushu University provides scholarships for the selected participants mainly from ASEAN countries.

 

We are pleased to inform you that the Application for ASEAN in Today’s World 2021 Online Program at Kyushu University is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

  • AsTW2021 online program will be cancelled when the minimum number of applicants or successful applicants is less than 30.
  • The result announcement will be e-mailed to each applicant by the end of January, 2021.
  • Please check Kyushu University’s Privacy Policy before you send your application.
  • To receive the scholarship, a bank account for overseas remittance is required.
  • Once an applicant has been selected as a scholarship recipient:
    • A scholarship recipient needs to remit a partial program fee of 59,200 JPY to Kyushu University by February 10, 2021.
    • Once the remittance has been confirmed, it will get returned to a recipient by overseas remittance.
  • The remaining program fee will be covered by the scholarship (no need to remit upfront).
  • Detailed instructions will be provided upon the announcement of results in late January, 2021.

UM International Week (UM iWeek 2020) will be held virtually for 5 days starting from 23 to 26 November 2020. The three overarching pillars of UM iWeek 2020 are Mobility Opportunities, Cultural Exchange, and Knowledge Sharing.

Mobility Opportunities : Studying abroad can change one’s perspective, level of adaptation and broadening one’s vision and outlook  through cultural appreciation and adaptation while studying abroad in a new environment in the interaction with different people from various backgrounds. 

Cultural Exchange : In the advent of globalisation and a borderless world, cultural diversity has always been the most fascinating element for us to explore. Culture is the element of unity. The arts & heritage of every society are worth understanding and cherishing as well as embracing the differences of different cultures and traditions.

Due to Covid-19, DREaM 2020 will be conducted virtually while still adapting to the existing DREaM content that has been implemented for the last eleven years. The theme of Virtual DREaM 2020 is “Resilience Amidst Global Pandemic”. Despite disadvantages caused by pandemic, many lessons on resilience can be obtained from various sources in a variety of fields.

 

DREaM 2020 will present speakers who represent the academic world, researchers, policy makers, entrepreneurs, and society. Together with those people, the participants will be involved in a series of discussions, ideas exchange, as well as taking opportunities and facing obstacles from the relationship between the sphere of each influence. We are pleased to inform you that the Application for the #CONVERGE2 Short Program at Singapore University of Social Sciences is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

 

With the success of SUSS’s first virtual program in June, the Centre for Experiential Learning would like to extend an invitation to your students from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to join our second run — #CONVERGE2. This program will be held virtually from 30 November to 18 December 2020.  

Students will be able to form friendships, learn, and collaborate with undergraduates from other nations. This program is specially curated for all undergraduates passionate about Social Entrepreneurship, Sustainable & Ethical Business Development, and Community Development. 

From now till 8 November, SUSS is pleased to offer your students a special early-bird promotion of S$150 (U.PS$170). Scholarships are also available for outstanding ASEAN students.

  2. Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
  3. Be proficient in English. Non-native English speakers must have a score of at least TOEFL ITP 550, TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 6.5.

Greetings from Ibaraki University, Japan!

 

Ibaraki University Ibaraki University (茨城大学, Ibaraki Daigaku), Japan, is a national university located in Ibaraki Prefecture, with campuses in the cities of Mito, Ami, and Hitachi.

 

It was established on May 31, 1949, integrating these prewar institutions: Mito High School (Mito Kōtō-Gakkō), Ibaraki Normal School (Ibaraki Shihan-Gakkō), Ibaraki Juvenile Normal School (Ibaraki Seinen Shihan-Gakkō), and Taga Technical Specialists’ College (Taga Kōgyō Senmon-Gakkō). The initial colleges were the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, and the College of Engineering.

 

We are pleased to inform you that the Application for the International Student Conference at Ibaraki University is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

 

The International Students Conference in Ibaraki (ISCI) reaches its 16 times this year. 

ISCI provides Japanese and International students with opportunities to have academic and cultural interactions, which surely enrich the development of internationalized human resources.
