A number of 14 students and 3 staff from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) had the opportunity to explore Indonesian culture and learn sustainability practices during their recent visit to Universitas Gadjah Mada on 24-29 November, 2025.

Directorate of Partnership and Global Relations in collaboration with Directorate of Student Affairs UGM recently hosted a cultural excursion program for Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship awardees on Saturday, 22 November 2025 in Bantul, Yogyakarta. The KNB Scholarship is an Indonesian government-funded program designed to support students from developing countries in pursuing higher education across Indonesian universities.

- This project is administered by the Australian Government Department of Education through the International Education Innovation Fund (IEIF), delivered in partnership with the RMIT Asia Hub.
- This program aims to support the careers of Early Career Researchers (ECRs). ECRs are researchers who have completed their PhD degree or equivalent within eight years of applying to participate. It will deliver ECR placements for ASEAN member states in Australian research institutions in shared priority areas. Through this initiative, selected recipients will receive up to AU$20,000 each to complete a one to three-month research placement at an Australian research institution.
