The Prize recognizes young scientists whose work contributes to global socio-economic progress and encourages greater interest in science, particularly among women and girls, to foster gender equality and promote scientific careers.

Greetings from Brunei Darussalam! Universiti Brunei Darussalam is the first national university of Brunei Darussalam, a small country located on the north coast of Borneo Island in Southeast Asia. Founded in 1985, UBD offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs in fields such as arts and social sciences, business, education, science, health sciences, and Islamic studies. The university also promotes research in various areas, including biodiversity, climate change, energy, and education. UBD has a strong emphasis on the values and traditions of Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic faith, and strives to produce graduates who are committed to serving the nation and the global community.
