Program Description

“The study of Southeast Asia now focuses on the increasing dynamism and strategic importance of its diverse regions in the context of world multipolarism. Such a position opens a wide range of advantages as well as challenges. Among others, its central role in the Indo-Pacific region and the diverse range of issues that cover the South China Sea dispute, conflict in Myanmar, global warming, environmental, political, economic, communication, language, and socio-cultural issues require multidisciplinary expertise to understand and study Southeast Asia today.

MMAT (Mengajar dan Meneliti Asia Tenggara/Teaching and Researching Southeast Asia) Summer Course 2023 takes “”Southeast Asia in the Dynamic of Indo-Pacific”” as its focus. It will encourage and equip students from all over the world to learn from experts on Southeast Asian studies about current issues in individual Southeast Asian countries as well as Southeast Asia as a whole.”
