The primary aim of the Scheme is to enhance research capacity in ACIAR’s partner country institutions. Whilst individual awardees will benefit from the Scheme, it is important to emphasise that partner country institutions are the key targets.
ACIAR’s research priorities are determined through regular consultations with partner countries. Alignment of postgraduate training with research will ensure that the training needs of partner countries are met. Thus, postgraduate studies undertaken by each awardee are usually based on the research work being carried out under the collaborative research project in whch the awardee is engaged prior to taking up the award. Although applications are welcome from participants in both bilateral and multilateral projects, applicants must be working with ACIAR projects in a current partner developing country and applicants must be citizens of the country in which they are working.
After a successful initial year, ACIAR will continue to use the online application process. For registration please visit the Online Australia Scholarship Information System (OASIS) http://oasis.dfat.gov.au to logon, create and complete an application.
Please note that it is ACIAR’s preference that applicants apply online. However if applicants are unable to submit online an updated application form will be made available on request to johnallwright@aciar.gov.au

Inha University annually offers a summer school program as part of its goal to enhanced global education. The summer program was first initiated in 2004 to provide overseas college students with hands-on opportunities to learn the Korean language and experience the cultural and academic life in Korea. Since then, the program has continued to develop and has been enriched with more unique and diverse activities, while attracting more participants every year. This short-term, intensive program mainly consists of classroom lectures, visits to corporate sites, cultural sessions, and field trips to cultural and historic places. Through the coursework, international students will have opportunities to better understand the dynamic aspects of Korean society in the past, present and future. One of the most important and engaging aspects of this program is that learning is not limited to the classroom. From 2015, we offer various culture classes arranged in Tracks so that students can involve in more closely with Korean Culture. In addition, students will have many opportunities to meet and interact with Korean students during the program and they will also be able to share their experiences and views with each other through presentations during their classes. At the end of the program, participants will receive certificates of completion.
In addition to learning about the Korean language and culture, students will also be able to take many other interesting courses such as East Asian Politics and International Relations, Korean Society and Politics in Films, Introduction to Korean Business & Economy, Language and Culture in Practice and Modern Technologies for the Future, etc. These courses will cover theories at the introductory level, present diverse aspects in the chosen fields and include site visits to various off-campus places. The fields and scope of the courses will continue to expand reflecting the interest and needs of students and the global community.
This summer, the University of Twente will host the second edition of its annual summer school: CuriousU. From 14 August until 23 August 2016, we will offer tracks that make us unique, covering topic that combine high tech with a human touch. Students can take courses on topics such as serious gaming, health, smart cities, entrepreneurship and physics. CuriousU is intended for second-to-last or last year Bachelor’s students and entry level Master’s students. However, it is also open for anyone with a broad interest and a curious mind.
PROGRAM FEE
The base fee for attending the summer school is €800. If you register before 17 May, 2016, you will instead pay an early bird fee of €560. The fee includes:
Dear Student,
How does an internship at a GE Global Research Center and a scholarship of up to $100,000 sound to you?
With GE’s Unimpossible Missions: University Edition global challenge, now’s your chance to push the boundaries of human knowledge. To rewrite the rule book. To make the impossible possible, with the help of science.
You see, every day, GE does things that supposedly can’t be done. By taking the smartest minds and giving them access to the most cutting-edge technology available, we’re solving the world’s toughest problems.
The basis behind the challenge is GE’s Unimpossible Missions video series, in which GE engineers employ our knowledge of science, technology and innovation to debunk common sayings (Catching Lightning in a Bottle, Like Talking to a Wall, A Snowball’s Chance in Hell).
Now it’s your turn to show us what you can do! Here’s how to start innovating:
