Description

One of the strategic roles of philosophical thought is being able to provide a comprehensive frame of mind in order to provide solutions to various issues of human life.

The application and dissemination of knowledge are then responded by the community. both positively and negatively. The impact of the spread of this knowledge also affects other fields, such as the environment, economy, social, culture, politics and technology.

Therefore, a policy is needed to implement sciences so that it can be utilized by the community. The emergence of various professional organizations and government institutions show that ethics education is still and always needed, not only normative ethics but also applied ethics.  In this course, we offer some issues to be discussed among scholars and those who interested in these topics.

What is AYSPP?

ASEAN Young SocialPreneurs Program is a biennial program organized by the GEO FISIPOL Universitas Gadjah Mada to bring together young social entrepreneurs from ASEAN and neighboring countries and immerse the participants in a collective forum of scholars, practitioners, and professionals. Through two weeks of stimulating program and activities, AYSPP 2019 aims at improving the participants’ critical understanding and social awareness in this increasingly wider digital society. As aspects of Information and Communication Technology are consistently advancing, society is expected to effectively harness the arts of the digital world. Noting the positive trend of ASEAN’s powerhouse economy, making essential uses of technology is pivotal for enterprises. Thus, AYSPP 2019 will then raise the theme:

The increase in public awareness of the high incidence of diseases caused by lifestyle-related diseases has resulted in a mindset change of community in placing food as a source of nutrition as well as the prevention of disease. Food problems have become a double burden in society, and the prevalence of fast food consumption patterns and high-calorie density that are not based on the principle of nutrition fulfillment have led to an increase in degenerative diseases, such as diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension, and coronary heart disease.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

South East Asian Tropical Biology Ecosystem is the mega biodiversity center of many plants, animals, and other exotic species. This ecosystem also plays an important role to sustain economical needs for the livelihood of the people living in the area. Nevertheless, population growth and human activities, land degeneration, deforestation, climate change, and unsustainable economic policy threaten the biodiversity and the function of the tropical ecosystem to sustain livelihoods.

The ASEAN Biodiversity and Conservation Network aims to achieve sustainable tropical biology development through an integrated approach and international collaboration. Therefore, this summer course is designed to improve sustainable development literacy and its importance to the conservation of tropical biodiversity in Southeast Asia.

Overview

The theme of the second summer school is a broadening of the application of transnationalism in looking not just at the historical phenomenon, but present-day economic, social, religious, cultural and political phenomenon in the city of Yogyakarta that is rooted in transnational forces and flows.

We intend to look into these phenomena critically through theoretical, historical and social science discussion on various transnational manifestations in the city of Yogyakarta. These transnational phenomena appear in the form of social spaces, cultural events, economies, and belief systems and represent the intertwining of transnational and local spaces and societies. These represented long historical phenomena from the period when Southeast Asia was part of that Asian trade network that brought over foreign culture, religion and social practices that would be entwined in the city’s identities.
