UUM represents the sixth public university in Malaysia which was established by the fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, in 1984. The 1.061 hectare main campus is located in Sintok, Kedah ensconced in a luxuriant tropical rain forest surrounded by emerald green hills where students can explore freely. Additionally, UMM is the only university in Malaysia that provides on campus accommodation to more than 22,000 students.

National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU; Chinese: 國立臺灣師範大學; pinyin: Guólì Táiwān Shīfàn Dàxué), or Shīdà 師大 is an institution of higher education and normal school operating out of three campuses in Taipei, Taiwan. NTNU is the leading research institute in such disciplines as Education and Linguistics in Taiwan. NTNU was internationally ranked 331st in the 2021 QS World University Rankings, 601-800th in the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings and 900–1000th in the 2020 Academic Ranking of World Universities. NTNU is widely recognized as one of Taiwan’s comprehensive and elite higher education institutions. NTNU is affiliated with National Taiwan University and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology as part of the National Taiwan University System. NTNU is an official member of AAPBS.

Tunghai University (THU; traditional Chinese: 東海大學; simplified Chinese: 东海大学) is the oldest private university in Taiwan established in 1955, founded by the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA). The first president, Beauson Tseng, said “Pioneering will be our watchword”, hoping that Tunghai will become an outstanding and innovative university. Tunghai became the first university in Taiwan to introduce Liberal General Education, POYA School, universal AI education, AWS powered innovation school and the first in Central Taiwan to establish a Chinese Language Center. The university is known for its beautiful campus, Liberal Arts Education, and universal Artificial Intelligence curriculum. According to Times Higher Education’s Impact Rankings 2020, the university is rated as the most impactful private university in Taiwan and 3rd in the country.

Chiba University (千葉大学, Chiba Daigaku) and it is also abbreviated as Chibadai (千葉大) is a national university in the city of Chiba, Japan. It offers Doctoral degrees in education as part of a coalition with Tokyo Gakugei University, Saitama University, and Yokohama National University. The university was formed in 1949 from existing educational institutions in Chiba Prefecture, and over a period of years absorbed Chiba Medical University (1923-1960), a preparatory department of the Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Chiba Normal School (1872-1951), Tokyo Polytechnic High School (1914-1951), Chiba Horticultural High School, among others. Chiba University was reincorporated in 2010 under the National University Corporation Act. Chiba University has been ranked 168th on the Asia University Rankings 2019 Top 100 by “The Times Higher Education”.

Aoyama Gakuin University (Japanese: 青山学院大学, Hepburn: Aoyama Gakuin Daigaku, AGU) is a private university in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. Originally established in 1874 by missionaries from the Methodist Episcopal Church, it was reconfigured in its current form in 1949 as part of Aoyama Gakuin. Aoyama Gakuin University celebrated its 140-year anniversary in 2014 and is one of Japan’s oldest higher education facilities. Aoyama Gakuin University has been champion of the prestigious Hakone Ekiden five times in the last six years (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020).

Sogang University (SU, Hangul: 서강대학교 Hanja: 西江大學校, literally “West River University”) is a private research university in Seoul, South Korea. It was established in 1960 by the Wisconsin Province of the Society of Jesus. Sogang is the oldest Catholic and Jesuit institution of higher education in South Korea. Admission to Sogang University is highly selective and competitive in South Korea. Sogang’s freshman intake belongs to the top 1% of their high school academic performance in the country, and the university is widely regarded as the top private university and one of the most prestigious elite schools in South Korea.

Taipei Medical University (TMU; Chinese: 臺北醫學大學; pinyin: Táiběi Yīxué Dàxué) in Taiwan is located in Taipei’s Xinyi District. Founded as Taipei Medical College in 1960, it was renamed as Taipei Medical University in 2000. In July 2017, Global Views Monthly Magazine released the ranking for Taiwan’s Best Universities, in which TMU was ranked 9th. In particular, TMU was ranked top 1 in both the faculty-student ratio section (1:9.9) and the average annual budget per student section. In February 2017, Cheers Magazine published the list of the Top 20 Universities of Excellence Performance. TMU was at the 10th place in overall national ranking. Moreover, according to the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Ranking 2017, TMU was ranked as 91st place.

Jeonbuk National University was founded in 1947 under the name of Chonbuk National University, following the liberation of the Republic of Korea, by the Provincial fund within the framework of the Korean national university system; it is one of 10 Flagship Korean National Universities. JBNU has grown to 16 colleges and 14 graduate schools (one general, nine specialized and four professional graduate schools). JBNU’s Jeonju campus provides approximately 32,000 enrolled students, and 2,000 faculty and staff members with educational, research and support facilities. JBNU maintains cooperative programs with international educational institutions, and more than 500 international students are enrolled in its degree programs, in addition to around 100 international researchers.

Named for prominent World War I general Sir John Monash, it was founded in 1958 and is the second oldest university in the state. The university has a number of campuses, four of which are in Victoria (Clayton, Caulfield, Peninsula, and Parkville), and one in Malaysia. Monash also has a research and teaching centre in Prato, Italy, a graduate research school in Mumbai, India and a graduate school in Suzhou, China. Monash University courses are also delivered at other locations, including South Africa.

Chubu University (中部大学, Chūbu Daigaku) is located in Kasugai, Aichi, Japan. Chubu University was established as the Chubu Institute of Technology in 1964 with the motto “Acta, non Verba” (Actions, not Words) but its institutional history begins with the Nagoya Daichi High School established in 1938. It was renamed as Chubu University in 1984, and has been subsequently expanded to comprise seven schools and six graduate schools, with about 11,000 students and twenty research institutions.
