Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) participated in the EAIE Conference and Exhibition 2024, held from September 17-20, 2024, in Toulouse, France. This event is an annual conference and exhibition organized by the European Association for International Education (EAIE), a non-profit organization in Europe focused on the internationalization of higher education.
The EAIE Conference and Exhibition is one of the most prestigious higher education conferences and exhibitions in Europe, which aims to strengthen networks and foster collaborations among higher education institutions worldwide.
UGM sent two delegates to attend the event: Erni Kurnia Putri, S.S., M.Sc., from the Sub-directorate of International Cooperation, Directorate of Partnerships and Global Relations, and Nastyalita Gunaprasida, S.E., from the Global Relations and Mobility Program (GREAT) at the Faculty of Economics and Business, as exhibitor and co-exhibitor. They participated in various activities, including setting up the UGM booth, attending forum discussion sessions, and meeting with UGM’s partners.
These meetings with various partners opened up opportunities for UGM to further develop international collaborations. Several delegates who attended the event took the opportunity to visit the UGM booth and expressed their interest in initiating or expanding collaborations with UGM.
For instance, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong showed interest in starting collaborations with UGM. Additionally, UGM’s partners, such as The University of Tokyo and Monash Business School, expressed a desire to expand double degree collaborations, while other partners like McGill University and the University of Burgundy showed interest in increasing student mobility at their campuses.
UGM’s participation in the EAIE Conference and Exhibition is an effort to strengthen internationalization and partnerships with foreign institutions. This initiative also aligns with UGM’s vision and mission to become a world-class university.
