The ES3 2024 is a 3-week program featuring an 18-hour non-credit Engineering and Sustainability module, complemented by engaging outdoor activities focusing on engineering and technologies. Participants will be able to experience knowledgeable and enjoyable activities offered along with many visits to local exhibitions and stores, an excursion trip, and exhilarating games to experience the local cultures and traditions of Malaysia. By joining this summer school, the students will gain the opportunity to learn more about Malaysian culture, disclosure to heritage as well as interacting with local society.

The program includes intensive Japanese language for absolute beginners and culture classes .
Participants will have the chance to learn with Toyo University Japanese students in interactive classes.
Other than that, there will be a field trip to Mt. Fuji with Toyo students lined up for students to understand its environmental issues and SDGs better.

The participation fee after the discount is 203,000 yen (about $1,350).

SMART CITY, DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND SOCIETY IN SOUTHEAST ASIA SUMMER COURSE 2024 is an summer course held by Center for Southeast Asian Social Studies, Universitas Gadjah Mada, since 2024. Smart cities are characterized by their focus on enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and the overall quality of urban life, integrating technology into various aspects of society. Yet, amidst rapid technological progress, resource constraints, and intricate social dynamics, the imperative for inclusive, interdisciplinary dialogue looms large. The International Summer Course in Cosmetic: Exploring Indonesian Beauty, offered by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada, leverages Indonesia’s rich natural resources and ongoing “Back to Nature” trend to provide an in-depth study of natural cosmetics development.

This year, our curriculum emphasizes natural product cosmetics, covering essential knowledge, research and development, regulations, and business innovation within the cosmetic industry. We are confident that this comprehensive program, blending online and in-person learning, will be an invaluable journey, offering new knowledge, skills, and lasting memories. Three weeks program, from July 15 to August 2, 2024, introduces a unique blended learning format that merges flexible online engagement with practical, hands-on activities. In the opening week, students can access our e-learning platform for asynchronous meetings, offering the flexibility to learn at their own pace and comfort, fostering a relaxed educational setting. The following week features a particular online session with expert speakers, providing an in-depth exploration of the course topics and a chance for direct interaction with leading professionals. The final week invites participants to our physical location for practical exercises in traditional cosmetic making and an educational field trip, enriching the learning experience with real-world application while exploring the beauty Indonesia has to offer.

Introduction

To mark its 150th Anniversary in 1982, Jardine Matheson established an educational trust called The Jardine Foundation to provide scholarships. The Foundation in its discretion awards Jardine Scholarships annually to students to enable them to attend educational establishments, primarily selected colleges at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge (the ‘Universities’) in the United Kingdom.

The Foundation aims to assist scholars who have the potential to become outstanding citizens with a high commitment to the community. Consequently, the selection of candidates is based on a number of criteria, which include academic achievement, leadership qualities, and involvement in non-curricular activities and community affairs. The Foundation has established a programme in conjunction with Universitas Gadjah Mada (‘UGM’) to offer a total of two scholarships a year for Oxford and Cambridge Universities for postgraduate courses. UGM will seek suitable applicants from its alumni or faculty for recommendation to the Foundation. Candidates shortlisted by the Foundation will be required to apply to the Universities, and if successful in securing a place, will then be subject to a final consideration by the Selection Committee.

Introduction

Indonesian International Student Mobility Award Professional Program (Entrepreneur) (IISMA-E) is the Government of Indonesia scholarship scheme to fund Indonesian students for entrepreneurship program at top Universities overseas. Undergraduate and vocational students could spend six to seven weeks at the overseas university partner to study, experience the host country’s culture and undertake entrepreneurial assignments to hone their skills.
