This year, GNNS Asia (together with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the European Union) organising a virtual innovation challenge to foster entrepreneurship in Southeast Asia.

The Galileo Hackathons will ask participants to come up with creative solutions to 4 different challenges in ASEAN using the European Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Galileo. We believe that this poses a great opportunity for the talented students at your university to apply their skills in real-life scenarios and potentially win a prize from a pool of 10,500 EUR. Additionally, this event will encourage participants to learn more about EU space and prepare them for a future in the European New Space sector.

Greetings from the ASEAN Fellowship Programme!

The ASEAN Fellowship Programme aims to attract bright postgraduate researchers from ASEAN countries to Singapore research institutions for a 2-year long fellowship. The programme is administered by three academies in Singapore – the Singapore National Academy of Science (SNAS), together with the Academy of Medicine Singapore (AMS), and the Academy of Engineering Singapore (AES) – and funded by the National Research Foundation (NRF). It involves the participating host institutions, including Singapore universities and research institutions such as A*STAR, and candidates aligning to agreed fields of research (science, medicine, engineering, and computer science).

Since the start of Covid-19  pandemics, students have been confined to their homes, lacking social interactions—this year’s Ewha International Winter College (EIWC) will serve as a great relief after the cabin fever! EIWC features one session of 3-weeks— this session consists of lectures including Korean Language Course and Korean Ceramics, along with field trips such as Lotte World and Gyeongbokgung Palace Tour. 

This year, in-person classes include Korean Ceramics (in studio-type), Introduction to Business and Korean History classes. In addition, you cannot miss our courses included in the category of online classes of Korean Language, Gender Relation in Korea and Fashion Psychology & Consumer Behavior. These courses will enrich your students’ stay in Korea. If you cannot attend the classes in person, don’t worry, you can take the online courses instead.

Co-hosted by Monash Herb Feith Centre and LLCL, the Asian Studies Association of Australia (ASAA) 2022 Conference ‘Social Justice in Pandemic Times’ will bring together academics, activists, artists, students, practitioners and community members from across disciplines with shared interest in Asia, including Asian communities in Australia and globally. Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) is an autonomous engineering and technology university located in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is one of the eight new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Recently, the Indian Government has taken an initiative for providing scholarships to students from ASEAN countries for pursuing Ph.D. programs at different Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in India.
