Greetings from Multimedia University!

Multimedia University, abbreviated as MMU, is the oldest and first ever full-fledged private research undergraduate-focused university in Malaysia and a government-linked university as it is owned by Telekom Malaysia. The university has three campuses, located in Malacca, Selangor, and Johor. Among the very few Malaysian private universities which has multiple campuses. The university hosts ten faculties and Institute of Postgraduate Studies.

We are pleased to inform you that the application for MMU Exchange Programme in Spring 2022 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

Radboud University is a public university with a strong focus on research located in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. The university bears the name of Saint Radboud, a 9th century Dutch bishop who was known for his intellect and support of the underprivileged.  

We are pleased to announce that Radboud University is offering Online Training Sessions about internationalization of higher education. 

The format is simple: we offer four interesting sessions. Each session will be introduced by a speaker from Radboud University and a partner university, followed by interactive discussions and reflections.

Thursday (4/11) OIA UGM received a visit from Mulawarman University. This visit aims to discuss how Mulawarman University from Samarinda, East Kalimantan could cultivate their international exposure. As an office that bridges the partnership between UGM and partners from abroad, OIA UGM is expected to be able to provide information on this matter. This visit was carried out in a blended-visit (online and offline), where some representatives from OIA UGM and Mulawarman University met directly at the OIA UGM Office, Yogyakarta.

Virtual Info Session by NIEC Yogyakarta x UGM: Tuition in Europe On Par with Yogyakarta

Friday (5/11), Naresy International Education Consultant (NIEC) Yogyakarta in collaboration with Universitas Gadjah Mada held a Virtual Info Session for students who are interested in continuing their study abroad. This event started with the Branch Manager of NIEC, Edy Purwanto., M.A., greeting the participants. Participants were then asked about their university and major. Participants were from areas all over Indonesia, from Sumatra all the way to Papua.

Edy Purwanto, or Kak Edy, was going to share information on how to “study on a budget” in Europe. NIEC itself is a consulting agency focusing on college and scholarship admission. Throughout the event he debunked myths about studying abroad, he even answered and discussed many questions the participants had. Many students were worried about a lot of things from their lack of fluency in speaking English, having little to no achievements, or even tuition fees. Despite it all, Kak Edy assured them that NIEC can help them regardless of their circumstances.

The UST Model ASEAN Meeting 2022 will be held virtually on February 3-5, 2022 with the theme: “ONE ASEAN, ONE HEALTH: Overcoming COVID-19 Adversities through Regional Cooperation and Development.” It will be the first full-scale online simulation of UST MAM. Detailed information about the UST MAM and the event itself is provided in the event primer

The UST Model ASEAN Meeting is a 3-day international event organized by the UST Asian Studies Majors. The UST Asian Studies Society organizes this simulation annually to foster innovative growth, peaceful civic engagement, and inclusive involvement across the 10 ASEAN member states. This event primarily simulates the proceedings of an actual ASEAN Summit. The UST Model ASEAN Meeting has 3 pillars – the socio-cultural pillar, economic pillar, and political security pillar. Tokyo University of Foreign Studies is the oldest academic institution devoted to international studies in Japan. It began as the Institute for Research of Foreign Documents (蛮書調所, Bansho Shirabesho), a Tokugawa shogunate’s translation bureau set up in 1857.

It was subsequently established as an independent educational and research institution with the name Tokyo School of Foreign Languages (東京外国語学校, Tōkyō gaikokugo gakkō) in 1899.
