This year, we are planning to nominate your students (2 students) for the scholarship program.
Important Notes
– We nominate students for 1 year program only.
That means he/she has to study for 1 year from March 2016 to December 2016.
If your selected students’ 2016 first semester GPA is below 80% (out of 100%), they will not get a scholarship in the second semester.
– We are looking for students who will take courses which will be conducted in English not Korean language program. (Undergraduate students only)
Students must take courses at our Seoul campus not Global campus.
Students have to take at least one Korea-related elective during their stay.
Students who received any type of Korean government scholarship before are not eligible.
Freshmen students are not eligible. Only those who completed at least one year at home institution at the time of application can apply for this program.
If they apply for GKS scholarship through KHU, they cannot apply through another university.
Students with Korean nationality are not eligible.
Students must stay in Korea during the scholarship program.
– The higher GPA students have, the higher the chances will be. It’s very important and has been proved for the last few years. It is one of the most important criteria in the selection process.
★ GPA means total GPA(CGPA) at the time of application. If your student’s academic standing is below 80% (out of 100%), the student will not be eligible for this program.
★ Foreign Language Proficiency including English & Korean will be another important factor.
Students must submit their score report as proof with other required documents.

Your extracurricular activities including community service (if you have), your career goal (also how this program will help you.) after this program and graduation should be included.
Please fill out the form with as many experiences as possible to make your one outstanding among many applicants.
Students shouldn’t mention our university name on it.
Signature of students must be on the form.
Maximum: 3 pages in A4 format(Letter size: 11 points)
– Study Plan # Use attached form. (typed in Korean or English only)
Purpose of applying for this exchange program together with what you study and your study goal in Korea should be included.
Students shouldn’t mention our university name on it.

– Recommendation letter (It should describe the students in details and shouldn’t mention our university name. Recommendation letters by professors are preferred.)
– Certificate of Enrollment and Transcript (which shows your student’s academic scores especially total GPA, CGPA) issued by your home university
– TOPIK and Foreign Language Proficiency Score Report (If you have the scores, you must submit them as proof.)
Foreign Language Proficiency Score Report should be valid at the time of submission (Jan. 2016).
Local English language tests are not counted.
– Other certificates which prove academic performance and extracurricular activities (Optional)
– A copy of valid passport (color-scanned)
– 2 passport-sized pictures
* All the certificates including transcript should be issued in English. Or, you have to submit an original document with a certified translation in English.
* Personal Statement, Study Plan and Recommendation Letter should be written in either English or korean
Because time is very limited, it will not be easy to submit all the required documents.
However, it will be such a good opportunity for you to study in Korea for 1 year as an exchange student with many benefits and less financial burdens.

2. The scholarship amount is subject to change (only slightly including airfare) and once we receive your students’ application packet, we will recommend them to NIIED and the final result is scheduled to be announced on February 12th, 2016.
3. It’s totally decided by Korean Government based on your students’ academic performance and submitted documents.
Recommendation from our university doesn’t guarantee the scholarship. They have to compete with students nominated by other universities in Korea.

The International Student Exchange Program at TUFS is a one-year short-term exchange program designed for international students, as well as Japanese students. The program provides students with the opportunity to study in Japan and helps them to acquire a firm understanding of Japan and the international community. About the SCHOLARSHIP:
The Ministry of Education of Japan supports the Japan Students Service Organization (JASSO) Scholarship Program, which many international exchange students coming to TUFS receive each year. Students applying to either of our exchange programs are therefore asked to submit a Certificate of Enrollment Form for the JASSO Scholarship Program with their Application to TUFS. Basic information regarding the program is provided below.
