[Taiwan] University of Taipei – Student Exchange Program 2017

Being the oldest university in Taiwan, established since 1895, University of Taipei (UT) with more than a hundred year of history in education has been contributing plentiful influential achievements in the development of the nation. Since its affirmation of reestablishment after August 2013, UT began a significant reform to endeavor for the excellent education with global view, continue to attract top Taiwanese students and international participants in line with our current mission to be a world-class research university. Many alumni from the legacy colleges and graduate schools have been empowered by our education and have become leaders in their area.
UT faculty members have been invited to be Minister of Education, Minister of Sport Affair Council, and President of National Academy for Educational Research, representing UT’s intellectual contribution to national policy of Taiwan. In 2013, UT received award from Springer for the highest viewed publication of the world in 2013, representing the strongest academic impact on international readership, leading ahead the rest of universities in Taiwan. UT Currently offering 56 bachelor, master and doctorate degree programs in 5 colleges. UT values international diversity, which greatly enriches global view of all students and sets a connecting platform of international career development for future leaders. UT seeks to exert far-reaching knowledge impact to the world on fields including art, humanity, science, education, public affair, and sports science.
UT is located in a vibrant international city with two campuses located in the political hub of Taiwan and Tien-Mu neighborhood adjacent to Yangmingshan National Park in Taipei. We are looking forward to strengthen innovation from research in all areas and to contribute more for human wellbeing.

[Japan] Kumamoto University – 2018 Spring Program

The Spring Program offered by the College of Cross-Cultural and Multidisciplinary Studies at Kumamoto University was created to provide international students who have an interest in studying abroad in Japan with a chance to experience life as an international student at Kumamoto University.
The Spring Program offers two courses to participants: an English Course (conducted in English) and a Japanese Course (conducted in Japanese).

【Dates】
Japanese Course:  Tuesday, February 13 – Thursday, February 22 2018 (10 days)
English Course:  Tuesday, February 27 – Thursday, March 8 2018 (10 days)
 
【Place】
Kumamoto University, with educational excursions around Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan
 
【Theme】
Each course of the Spring Program has its own study theme.  For the English Course, the theme is “Kumamoto Groundwater and Environmental Sustainability.”  For the Japanese Course, the theme is “Japanese Language and Culture, and employment in Japan”
 
【Eligibility】
Participation in this program is open to students who:
・are undergraduate students studying at universities with which Kumamoto University has agreement for academic or student exchange
・have English language proficiency equal to or greater than IELTS level 5 (English Course only)
・have Japanese language proficiency equal to or greater than JLPT N3 (Japanese Course only)
*Please note that participation in this program is limited to 40 students.  If we receive more than 40 applications for the program, a selection will be held based on Grade Point Average (GPA).
 
【Program Fee】
English Course: 80,000 Japanese Yen
Japanese Course: 80,000 Japanese Yen
○ includes accommodation, class fees, field trip fees, and breakfast.
× Does not include the cost of transportation to or from Japan, the cost of transportation within Japan, or the cost of meals (other than breakfast) during the program.
 
The program fee will be collected in cash after arriving in Japan.
 
【Scholarship】
Participants in the English Course of the Spring Program may apply for a government scholarship of 80,000 Japanese Yen, provided by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO).  However, there is a limitation to eligible students.  To be eligible for the scholarship, students must meet the following 3 conditions:

Yonsei University offers a 6-week winter program at its Sinchon campus for international students who would like to enjoy the winter in Seoul.
The winter program is composed of two separate 3-week sessions, with intensive morning coursework and unique afternoon Korean language and Taekwondo classes. At the weekend, students can enjoy Korean winter activities. It will be an excellent opportunity to catch up with your coursework, meeting professors in an intimate setting, and to enjoy the companionship of students from all over the world.

National Central University (NCU) is a university with long-standing traditions in Taiwan. Founded in Nanjing in 1915, NCU was the leading academic center in the Southeast China; the phrase “North the Peking University; South the Central University” at that time revealed the significance of NCU. NCU was later re-established in Taiwan in 1962 and started the development on the basis of Geophysics. After our endeavor over 50 years, NCU has expanded its school size and had great achievements both in academic and research development. NCU is now one of the leading universities in Taiwan.
