ASEAN Research Collaboration Project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and delivered in partnership with RMIT Asia Hub. The IEIF ASEAN Research Collaboration Project aims to support high-achieving international post-PhD ECRs to participate in commercially focused research in Australia, reflecting areas of mutual interest with the ASEAN region. The initiative will support the hosting of researchers by an Australian institution for a period of one to three months to build and deepen institutional linkages, create professional networks, support professional development, and exchange expertise with Australian researchers.

PROGRAM BENEFITS

  • Up to AU$20,000 per internship (up to 3-month duration).
  • Establishment allowance: $3,500 (paid once to cover for travel, visa and insurance costs)
  • Monthly stipend: $4,000 (paid up to the maximum program duration on a pro-rata basis)
  • Monthly family allowance: $1,500* (paid up to the maximum program duration on a pro-rata basis)

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Be a citizen and/or permanent resident of an ASEAN member state or Timor Leste
  • Not be an Australian citizen and/or permanent resident
  • Have completed a PhD degree or equivalent within the eight years prior to applying to participate in this project (i.e., PhD was conferred from July 2017 onwards)
  • Be available to commence their proposed program in Australia after 6 October 2025 and complete the internship by 19 December 2025
  • Provide a research proposal which falls under one of the eligible research focus areas
  • Provide all relevant supporting documentation in English
  • Obtain a placement offer from an approved host Australian research organization
  • Meet the eligibility requirements to apply for and hold the relevant visa issued by the Department of Home Affairs.

NL Knowledge House (NLKH) will hold its flagship initiative known as the Matchmaking Event with an aim to provide a networking platform for researchers and experts from Indonesia and the Netherlands. The stakeholders involved will include governments, civil society, non-government organizations, knowledge institutions and businesses to explore possible forms of cooperation in the relevant thematic areas. Matchmaking is therefore considered as the critical point in the process of developing strategic collaboration.

MATCHMAKING CONCEPT

  • To ensure an effective matchmaking process and identify the most suitable partners, NLKH—represented by Nuffic Southeast Asia—will implement a pre-matchmaking mechanism through a multi-phase assessment.

 

TARGET AUDIENCE

  • The interested candidates from various sectors (government agencies, researchers, non-government organisations, potential investors, entrepreneurs, and education enthusiasts) can sign up for the event through the registration link.
  • Participants are strongly encouraged to attach any relevant ongoing or new project proposals to support the matchmaking process.

 

THEMATICS FOCUS AREAS

Participants are therefore encouraged to submit proposals that fall under the following thematic areas:

The University of Zurich (UZH) invites applications for its UZH Global Funding Scheme (GFS), supporting initiatives that strengthen UZH’s global network in alignment with the UZH Global Strategy 2030. The scheme is open to UZH’s Network and other Priority Partners that includes Universitas Gadjah Mada.

The GFS offers grants through three funding lines:

  1. Global Outreach Fund: Grants of CHF 5,000 to enhance the global visibility of UZH’s excellence.
  2. Global Seed Fund: Grants of CHF 5,000 to support initiatives that contribute to the development of a larger global project.
  3. Global Champion Fund: Grants ranging from CHF 20,000 to 60,000 to implement the UZH Global Strategy 2030 by supporting initiatives with strong potential for long-term institutional collaboration.

These grants support collaborative projects aimed at enhancing UZH’s global partnerships and international impact.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  •  The main applicant must be affiliated with UZH.
  • At least one partner applicant must be on the list of UZH’s Network and Priority Partner
  • Applications must be submitted to UZH by the main applicant
