Warm greetings from Saitama University, Japan!

Saitama is known for its well-developed industries and cultures, well-balanced urban and natural environment, and convenience. The city of Saitama is the place where the Japanese have had a close relationship with foreigners for a long time and respecting and embracing people from other areas. Saitama University has long been established as a respected national university within Japan. As part of its global initiative, the University convey outstanding results born from its multifarious research projects to scholars across the world.

We are pleased to inform you that the application for the Saitama University Students Exchange Program for Spring 2021 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

Eligibility

  • 3rd to 6th-semester undergraduate students (S1)
  • 3rd to 4th-semester graduate students (S2/S3)
  • Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program

Required Documents

  1. Application Form (download| to be filled in PDF file by typing only)
  2. Application for Certificate of Eligibility (download|Guide to Fill| to be filled in PDF file by typing only)
  3. Pre-Arrival Questionnaire for New Incoming Students (download| to be filled in Word file by typing only)
  4. Financial Statement – Bank balance certificate, Scholarship certificate, etc. (after nominated)
  5. Tuberculosis (TB) Clearance (after nominated)
  6. Statement of Purpose – either in Japanese or English
  7. Digital Color Picture of Passport Photo (high-quality JPG or PNG only, not scanned one)
  8. Letter of recommendation from the academic advisor
  9. Official Academic Transcript
  10. Curriculum Vitae
  11. Colored copy of passport
  12. Letter of Nomination from faculty (addressed to Head of Office of International Affairs)
  13. English language proficiency (Min. Score of TOEFL – ITP=530, iBT 80 or IELTS 6.0)
  14. Confirmation Letter of Participation (download)
  15. Certificate of Enrollment from faculty

Application Procedure

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to the Office of International Affairs, UGM for internal review.
  2. OIA staff will evaluate your application.
  3. Once you are selected as Nominated Student, OIA will send your official nomination to Saitama University for host-university selection.
  4. The FINAL decision from the Saitama University.
Please register your application and send all documents above in softcopy (compiled in 1 PDF File) to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than September 18th, 2020. 
IMPORTANT NOTES:
  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
  • Application of outgoing mobility for fall/odd semester in AY 2020/2021 will be processed but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest development of COVID-19 and government’s regulation.
