The University of Toronto, in partnership with Mitacs, invites Universitas Gadjah Mada students to apply for the Mitacs Globalink Research Award (GRA) 2026-2027. This prestigious program supports international research collaborations by funding students to conduct a 12 to 24-week research project in Canada.
We are pleased to inform you that the application for the U of T Mitacs GRA is now open for UGM students.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS & BENEFITS
- Funding: Successful applicants receive a $6,000 CAD research grant.
- Duration: 12 to 24 weeks.
- Mobility Period: Projects must begin between September 1, 2026, and August 31, 2027.
ELIGIBILITY
- Active UGM Undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students.
- Must be conducting the research in collaboration with a University of Toronto faculty member.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Students must apply directly to the University of Toronto.
- Complete the required Intake Form to confirm your Mitacs GRA eligibility via the official U of T portal.
- Intake Form Deadline: 19 May 2026 (11:59 PM ET).
- Eligible applicants will be formally invited to apply for the Mitacs GRA starting 1 June 2026. The FINAL decision is from Mitacs and the University of Toronto.
SPECIAL NOTICE
Quantum Stream Projects involving the quantum stream are exempt from standard deadlines and are accepted on a rolling basis. To apply for a quantum-focused research award, simply email globalinkaward@utoronto.ca directly.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
- In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
