[Call for Participants] Summer Course on Sustainable Tropical Agriculture 2025: The Journey of Coffee from Seed to Cup

Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) proudly presents the Summer Course on Sustainable Tropical Agriculture 2025. This year’s theme, “The Journey of Coffee from Seed to Cup”, offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to explore the world of tropical agriculture through the iconic crop: coffee. The program will delve into sustainable farming techniques, climate-resilient practices, post-harvest processing, and the cultural and economic importance of coffee in  Indonesia and beyond.

Throughout the course, participants will explore a diverse array of topics essential for thriving in tropical agricultural landscapes. From Sustainable Tropical Agriculture to Adaptive Farming Systems in Tropical Climates, Integrated Smallholder Plantations to Advancements in  Agricultural Technology and Management, and Socio-Economic and Cultural Perspectives, each module provides a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted challenges and opportunities inherent in tropical agriculture.

Course Format

  • Hybrid (online learning and on-site field trip)
  • Online (full online learning)

 

Targeted Participants

Participants may include undergraduate, master, doctorate students, and academic researcher, both international and domestic students from Indonesia who are interested in agriculture, environmental science, food science, or sustainability.
