Professor Weller was warmly welcomed by UGM’s Deputy Director of Partnerships and Global Relations, Professor Ir. Wiratni, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPM, along with representatives from several faculties, including the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Faculty of Biology. Key figures from UGM’s Directorate of Business Development and Directorate of Education and Learning also participated in the discussions.
The meeting centered around expanding collaboration across various faculties and units within UGM. Notable proposals included the establishment of a joint program in the Faculty of Biology, as well as initiatives for joint postgraduate activities and the recognition of prior learning (RPL) within the Family Medicine Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing. Additionally, both parties explored opportunities for an exchange program under the International Undergraduate Program (IUP), as well as a double degree initiative between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Collaboration with UGM’s Science Techno Park in health-related areas was also a key topic of conversation.
Following the successful meeting, the Office of International Affairs at UGM is set to organize further discussions between relevant faculties from both universities. The goal is to create new opportunities for the academic communities at UGM and UoE, fostering a rich exchange of knowledge and expertise.
This collaboration not only highlights the commitment of both institutions to advance education and research but also promises to contribute significantly to the fields of science and medicine on a global scale.
