On March 7th, 2024 Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and the University of Dundee, Scotland officially signed the first Memorandum of Understanding and Articulation Agreement for the Double Degree Program at Master’s Level. The signing ceremony was held at UGM main building and was attended by distinguished guests and faculty members.
“Thank you very much for welcoming us warmly, we are very excited to start a new journey through this collaboration,” said Principal and Vice-Chancellor University of Dundee, Professor Iain Gillespie.
The communication between UGM and University of Dundee started just at the end of 2022. This happened during the UK-Indonesia Transnational Education (TNE) Dialogue that was held in the capital city of Indonesia, Jakarta. From there, a strong rapport was established between both institutions, encouraging them to embark on a collaborative journey aiming at advancing higher education initiatives together.
The new collaboration between UGM and University of Dundee revolves around the development of joint research, teaching projects, and double degree program at master’s level. For the double degree program at master’s level, the collaboration is currently involving the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Biology, and Graduate School. The beginning of this collaboration aimed at fostering academic excellence and to strengthen the international ties as well to promote mutual understanding through education.
Following the signing ceremony, representatives from UGM and the University of Dundee engaged in a fruitful discussion on the future plans for the partnership. Both institutions expressed their commitment to fostering a dynamic and mutually beneficial relationship.
