Following the University merge of two existing campuses in Taipei City, The University of Taipei is established in 2013 and committed to be an university with international reputation. The urban-based institute has many defined academic disciplines and seeks to have far-reaching knowledge impact in the world on fields including art, science, education, public affair, and sports science. Many alumni from the legacy colleges and graduate schools before the University merge have been empowered by our education and have become leaders in every area. For the most recent 5 years, published articles from two campuses have been cited internationally for several thousand times reflecting our academic contribution. The Graduate School of Business (GSB) at Osaka City University will establish the Asian Business Research Program in master’s course beginning in April 2018 with the aim of conducting education and research for economics and business in Asia. This program is designed to nurture human resources who will work in Asian business and develop international education and research objectives of the GSB. For details, please see the outline of the program.

To develop this Asian business research program, GSB will accept international students with various cultural backgrounds from Asian countries. For this purpose, GSB is implementing admission based on recommendations of students from universities in Asia that have signed international academic exchange agreements with Osaka City University or the Graduate School of Business.

Kumamoto University Short-Term Exchange Program is designed for students who are enrolled full-time at a university abroad and have foreign citizenship. The program offers undergraduate foreign students, who are interested in the Japanese language, Japanese and Asian society and culture, advanced science and technology, and interactions with foreign students, the chance to study for up to a year in Japan while still retaining their full-time status at their home universities. The university also hopes that the program will promote exchange between university students from foreign countries and Japanese university students.

Kansai University is now recruiting exchange students for Fall semester 2018 which starts in September.

Kansai University was founded as Kansai Law School in November 1886, in the large commercial city of Osaka. Its founders consisted of a dozen people who were judicial officers and businesspersons. In the early 1870’s, the Ministry of Justice established its own law school. Western legal concepts, including that of human rights, were introduced into Japan by distinguished foreign scholars engaged by the Ministry. The founders of Kansai Law School had studied at this law school, under the French jurist Boissonade de Fontarabie^*1.The idea of individual rights and legal processes independent of central governmental control were new to Japan. Long after the conclusion of their study with Dr. Boissonade, the founders continued to feel that these concepts were vital to the new Japan. They saw it as their duty to popularize jurisprudence in order to spread throughout the nation two notions: that of an independent judiciary, and that of human rights.
