We are pleased to inform you that the application for Free Intensive Week Courses in Budapest Univesity of Economics and Business is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

 

PROGRAM INFORMATION

  • The courses are designed with 5 days ( 1- 5 September 2025) of in-person training in Budapest complemented by an online session, , allowing participants to apply for Erasmus funding.

  • Each course will grant 3 ECTS credits and includes guest speakers from relevant industry corporate partners.

  • All additional costs (transportation, accommodation etc.)  must be covered by the participant.

 

COURSES OFFERED

  • Intercultural competencies in an international environment 

    This 5-day intensive course offers students a dynamic, hands-on introduction to develop their intercultural competencies. Through a combination of interactive lectures, workshops, group tasks in international teams, critical incident analysis, and individual presentations, the participants will deepen their understanding of cultural diversity and develop practical strategies for effective intercultural interaction.   • What’s on the menu? Develop your English Skills with Sustainable Fine Dining

    This course develops English communication skills through the lens of sustainable fine dining. Students will build vocabulary and fluency using real-life materials such as menus, interviews, and case studies. A guest speaker from the Michelin Green Star restaurant Villa Kabala will share insights into sustainability in high-end gastronomy. (download).

  • How to Ace Meetings: From Small Talk to Closing the Deal

    Master the art of international business communication in this practical, situation-based course. From breaking the ice with small talk to confidently closing deals, you’ll develop essential vocabulary, grammar, and cultural fluency for meetings across global contexts. Through interactive role-plays and real-world scenarios, enhance your speaking, listening, and negotiation skills. (download).

  • Super Hoteliers Intensive Week

    Among all tourism services, hotels are among the most complex and dynamic organizations, facing evolving challenges every day. The program offers two focused streams to develop key industry competencies: Revenue Management (ideal for students interested in analytics, forecasting, and hotel property management) and Organizational Development (recommended for those drawn to human, social, and community-focused challenges within the hospitality sector).

  • Back to the future of the banking sector, practical secrets of (green) financing

    The course aims to provide students global knowledge that they can use in their future careers, by introducing them to the practical world, secrets of the financing, and especially the green financing of banking sector. During the week participants will prepare a proposal for a green loan.

  • Communication without greenwashing – Ethical and transparent communication

    ‘Communication without Greenwashing’ is an interdisciplinary blended short course designed to equip learners with the critical knowledge and practical skills required to communicate messages ethically and transparently. This course empowers participants to become credible communicators and informed consumers, capable of recognizing, avoiding and correcting greenwashing practices.

  • Current issues in international business and communication

    This guest lecture series by faculty members from international partner universities provides the participants with insights into current challenging international business and communication issues and good practices. The lectures are related to a variety of fields related to international business, such as strategy, marketing, communication, logistics, finance, HR, social / political / regulatory environment of business etc.

The Faculty of Forestry at UGM proudly presents The IX International Forestry Summer Course – The Forest Nexus: Innovation in Food, Energy, and Water Sustainability, a summer course focusing on a variety of study materials designed to integrate the multidimensional aspects of forests in supporting food, energy, and water sustainability.

The learning includes topics on forest landscape management for food and water security, highlighting strategies for managing tropical forest landscapes to support food production and water resource conservation. In addition, materials on renewable fuel innovations from forest biomass and biofuels will discuss how forest waste can be processed into environmentally friendly bioenergy. Agroforestry systems are also a focus, with an emphasis on integrating agricultural and forestry practices to maximize food yields while providing sustainable fuels.

Not only will you learn the format of the questions and learn the key points for solving them, but it will also help you improve your overall Japanese language skills, including the vocabulary, grammar, and culture used in business situations. Both first-time test takers and those who have taken the test in the past are welcome to attend.

Osaka University, often referred to as Handai, is one of Japan’s prestigious national universities renowned for its excellence in education and research. Located in Osaka Prefecture, it has a history dating back to 1931 when it was established as the sixth imperial university under Japan’s old educational system. Today, Osaka University is recognized globally for its innovative research across various fields, including science, engineering, medicine, humanities, and social sciences. Hamadohri school is organized by University of Osaka. The school is also supported by IEEE/NPSS EduCom, IAEA and partner universities. Hamadohri school focus on the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11, 2011, particularly from the viewpoint of radiation, with the aim of understanding what happened at that time, the subsequent evacuation and reconstruction process, and the current situation from both natural and social scientific viewpoints, and to deepen the students’ individual ideas.

We are excited to announce the return of the ASEAN-Japan Youth Forum, “Take Actions for Social Change” (TASC) program for the year 2024, in collaboration with the Japan Foundation and the ASEAN University Network (AUN) Secretariat. Following the remarkable success of the previous year’s forum, TASC will continue fostering cross-cultural exchange between young people from ASEAN countries and Japan and addressing pressing global issues.

The exchange program to deepen mutual understanding between young people in ASEAN countries and Japan as part of the “Partnership to Co-create a Future with the Next Generation: WA Project 2.0”. The theme for 2025 is “Plastic Waste”. You will develop your own questions and explore the theme through online programs, field trips to the Philippines and Japan, and other activities. Then, through dialogue with other team members, participants will create action plans to co-create a better world, and each team will present a report on the outcome.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Undergraduate students
    •  final-year students are eligible to apply, provided the student status remains valid by the end of this program.
  • Those who have not lived abroad (including study abroad) for more than one year after the age of 12
  • Those who do not plan to leave their own country for study, internship, employment, training, etc. during the full duration of the programme
  • Those who are physically and mentally healthy
  • Those who have no problems participating in the full duration of the programme, including the Online Programme. Participation in only part of the time or part of the programme is not allowed.
  • Those who are taking some action on their own to solve common global and national social issues, or those who have a strong interest in such issues or have a strong interest in solving common global and national social issues
  • Those who are interested in international exchange and cross-cultural understanding
  • Sufficient English-language skills and positive attitude to have a global communication
  • Ability to understand the purpose of the programme and to actively participate in the programme. Ability to submit all the assignments given by the organizer on time
  • Those who are able to prepare the necessary equipment for online exchange (computer [not smartphones], internet connection environment, etc.)
  • Those who agree to allow the photographs and videos taken during the programme to be posted on the organizer’s and co-organizers’ websites and SNS etc., for PR purposes (For details, see Appendix 2).
