ABOUT THE PROGRAM 

  • Courses are all thematically related to the city of Berlin offering lectures and discussions in a variety of different subjects. In addition to seminars and lectures, students will be able to deepen and apply their knowledge on excursions and guided tours throughout Berlin. Courses are open to students of all academic disciplines.
  • HUWISU Winter Program is taking place from 5 January to 23 January 2026. Kindly refer to the website 
  • Summer School 2026 will take place from 15 June to 10 July (Session 1) and from 13 July to 07 August (Session 2). Kindly refer to the website

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Be at least 18 years old
  •  Be enrolled as a student or a doctoral candidate in some university. You can find the level requirement on the respective course pages. Participation by graduates is also possible in exceptional cases.
  •  Have a relevant educational background that qualifies you to take part in the course. Details can be found on the respective course page. A letter of motivation is required for the English-language subject courses.
  •  Provide proof of sufficient English language skills (not necessary if English is your native language or the language of instruction at your home university). The following tests are recognized:
    •  TOEFL IBT at least 90 – minimum 20 in each section
    •  TOEFL paper-based test – at least 580 – minimum 50 in each section
    •  IELTS 6.5 but at least 6.0 in each section
    •  TOEIC minimum 685 in all areas
    •  CEFR at least B2
    •  CET-4 (China) 550
    •  CET-6 (China) 490
    •  Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English – grade C

Kansai University was founded as Kansai Law School in November 1886, in the large commercial city of Osaka. Its founders consisted of a dozen people who were judicial officers and businesspersons. Kansai University has seen remarkable development over its many years. The University celebrated its 133rd anniversary in 2019. Kansai University has 13 faculties, 13 graduate schools, and three professional graduate schools, as well as a preparatory course for international students. COURSE TAUGHT IN ENGLISH

1. Winter School 2026  (2 weeks program)

  • The English- mediated course: Learning Osaka, the Mercantile Capital of Japan is taught in English.  The course provides students with the opportunity to learn about the history and culture of Osaka in depth through lectures and hands-on experience.  Students will also gain understanding of the “entrepreneurial spirit” by exploring the history and current situation of companies with roots in Osaka.  Introductory Japanese course is also available as an option for students who wish to study Japanese language.

2. Winter School 2026 (1 week Program) 

  • This is a one-week version of the two-week Winter School program, conducted entirely in English. Through participation in a selected portion of the full program, students will explore the history, culture, and entrepreneurial spirit of Osaka. Please note that the 1-week program does not include the optional Introductory Japanese Course available in the two-week version. This program is open only to group applications submitted by university coordinators.

3. OSIP Short-term Career Development Program 

  • The OSIP (Osaka Social Impact Project) Short-term Career Development Program is a 7-day program that brings together international and Japanese students to explore careers in Japan. Participants will take part in interactive workshops, a corporate visit, and cultural exchange. Pre-program online learning is included to enhance readiness and understanding of Japan’s work culture.

The Initiative offers conceptual and empirical elements of social sciences to place health-disease processes in a complex sociocultural environment. 3. Forest Ecology: Perspectives From The South

This intensive course, featuring practical fieldwork, focuses on the ecology, biodiversity, history, and conservation of southern Chile’s temperate forests. 1. 2025 Summer Business Japanese Special Courses

In this course, you will learn about the Japanese language, cultural knowledge, manners, and skills actually required in business situations. This is a valuable opportunity to learn from experts in each field about carefully selected topics. It also includes preparation for the “BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test” (Japan Kanji Aptitude Testing Foundation), which is a great help for international students in their job hunting activities. If you plan to take the BJT examination, this course will be great use to you.

2. 2025 Summer Business Japanese Advanced Course

An Advanced Business Japanese course intending to acquire a higher level of business Japanese language proficiency. Each course is designed for those with Japanese language proficiency of N1 (JLPT) or J2 (BJT) or higher, and deals specifically with the language and cultural knowledge required in actual business situations.

Kansai University was founded as Kansai Law School in November 1886, in the large commercial city of Osaka. Its founders consisted of a dozen people who were judicial officers and businesspersons. Kansai University has seen remarkable development over its many years. The University celebrated its 133rd anniversary in 2019. Kansai University has 13 faculties, 13 graduate schools, and three professional graduate schools, as well as a preparatory course for international students. Over its long history, all those involved in building its institution have had to overcome various hardships to achieve such prestigious standing.

We are pleased to inform you that the application for KU-EOL Fall 2025, Kansai University Online Program is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

 

Program Information

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

  • Originally launched in 2020, this program allows students outside of Japan to participate in selected courses offered by Kansai University online and free of charge. Students from partner universities are invited to apply and join their KU peers to take part in interactive online courses and collaborative online international learning (COIL) projects. Fall 2025 courses will take place 100% online between September and November (7 weeks) and lectures will be held once a week.

  • Marketing in Japan
  • Generate: Understanding DEIB in Practical Contexts
  • Research Methods for Social Sciences
  • Japanese Popular Culture (Postwar Japanese Culture)

 

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Undergraduate students (S1) or Graduate students (S2/S3)
  2. Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
  3. Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  4. Be proficient in English

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than 29 August 2025 for internal review.
  2. OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Kansai University and you may proceed to the online application no later than 12 September 2025.
  3. The FINAL decision is from Kansai University.
