Unit Kerja Kantor (UKK) Imigrasi UGM is Now Open!

The collaboration between the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kementerian Hukum dan HAM) Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has succeeded in building an Immigration Office Unit located at UGM (Immigration Office Chapter UGM). The presence of this office is to improve immigration services to the community, especially for foreign students, lecturers, and researchers in Universitas Gadjah Mada. Furthermore, hopefully, Immigration Office Chapter (UKK Imigrasi) UGM will provide facilities for foreigners who stay in Yogyakarta to extend or obtaining their stay permit easier.

  1. Passport Issuance for local members of UGM
  2. Visit/Stay Permit Processing for international members of Universitas Gadjah Mada
    *since there is no physical mobility yet, this service will be open once the immigration and physical mobility is getting normal.

Unit Kerja Kantor (UKK) Cabang UGM Telah Dibuka!

Kerjasama antara Kantor Wilayah Kementerian Hukum dan Hak Asasi Manusia (Kemenkumham) Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dan Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) telahberhasil membangun Unit Kerja Kantor (UKK) Imigrasi yang berlokasi di UGM atau UKK Cabang UGM. Hadirnya UKK yakni untuk meningkatkan pelayanan keimigrasan kepadamasyarakat, khususnya pelayanan bagi mahasiswa asing, dosen dan peneliti asing yang ada di Yogyakarta. Selanjutnya, UKK memberikan kemudahan bagi Warga Negara Asingyang berstatus sebagai mahasiswa, dosen, maupun penilitiuntuk pengurusan berkas-berkas keimigrasian terutama dalamhal pengurusan izin tinggal.

We are pleased to inform you that the Master of Arts in Asian Women’s Studies at  Ewha Womans University is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

 

Asian Women’s Studies (AWS) is a master’s degree program for international students offered in English. AWS seeks to train professionals and equip them with feminist knowledge and perspectives derived from and applicable to the realities faced by Asian women. As an interdisciplinary program, its faculty members come from diverse disciplines such as women’s studies, history, literature, political science, education, geography, regional studies, theology, and law. 

 

Although the main subject of study is “Asian women,” AWS does not limit its scope within the regional boundaries of Asia. Adopting the perspective of tricontinental postcolonial theories, AWS encourages its students to reconceptualize Asia and Asian women, and, by extension, pave the way to building solidarity among women in Asia and other non-West regions.

 

By delving into the heterogeneity within Asia and shared commonalities across regions, students will be able to decolonize western-centered feminism and produce feminist knowledge regarding women, gender, and sexuality in nonwestern contexts.

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) was established to primarily develop and promote management education in Malaysia. Virtual Mobility is a Mobility Exchange Program that students have the opportunity to attend classes and complete the program for one semester without having to be in Malaysia. The annual Global Talent Internship Program (GTI Program) hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology Center for Global Affairs and Science Engagement (MOST GASE) offers young talents an incredible opportunity to gain deeper understandings of Taiwan’s innovative science and technology development. The internship program will take place from June 28 to August 25, 2021. The program tuition fee will be provided by MOST GASE. Accommodation during 28 June – 4 July (6 nights) & 23 -25 August (2 nights) will be provided by MOST GASE. A set amount of accommodation fee during 4 July – 23 August will be subsidized by the Ministry of Science and

Technology, Taiwan for the amount of NT$ 43,750 (approx. US$ 1,500) before tax (18%).

Four of our regular 6-ECTS credit courses, taught in English, in an intensive 4-week format (choose 1 or 2):

Each course will have four or five two-hour classes per week.

Notes from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid :

 

 

  • Since September 2020, UAM has been operating with face-to-face classes on Campus, despite a second wave of COVID-19 across Europe. Thanks to current protocols, UAM has been running smoothly, without outbreaks or contagions caused by the classes.

 

 

  • Spain already has a vaccination plan against COVID-19 that is expected to start in January 2021. It is anticipated that by summer the entire population of Spain will be vaccinated, but by May a situation will have been reached that will allow the current restrictions to be relaxed.

 

 

Therefore, we expect that our Summer Schools will be held in a similar way to previous years and with 100% face-to-face classes, but with a few precautions. The most significant difference for students is that we expect the use of masks to remain mandatory. Please, check the website for full details on COVID-19, which will be updated, as necessary.

The Vienna School of International Studies (Diplomatic Academy Vienna) is a center of excellence for the study of international affairs and the oldest professional school in this field worldwide, having launched talented men and women into international careers and positions of leadership over the course of more than two centuries.

 

Every year the Diplomatic Academy Vienna organizes a summer course for international students, in order to learn about Austria and its capital city of Vienna. The course includes many interesting activities, workshops and lectures.

Summer school german language and austrian studies is a 4 weeks of intensive German language training in small groups at different levels of competence (from beginners to advanced, in accordance with the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework/CEFR) that conducted from 2 – 26 August 2021.

  2. Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form:http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than May 15th, 2021 for OIA’s internal documentation.
  3. THE FINAL decision from Diplomatic Academy Vienna.

Chuo University, commonly referred to as Chuo or Chu-Dai, is a private flagship research university in Tokyo, Japan. Founded in 1885 as Igirisu Hōritsu Gakkō (the English Law School), Chuo is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in the country.The university operates four campuses in Tokyo: the largest in Hachiōji (Tama campus), one in Bunkyō (Korakuen campus), and two others in Shinjuku (Ichigaya and Ichigaya-Tamachi campuses). Chuo is organized into six faculties, ten graduate schools, and nine research institutes. 

 

MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japanese Government) offers scholarships to international students who will study in the Graduate Programs at Japanese universities, upon receiving recommendations from Japanese host universities. The International Center at Chuo University will nominate to MEXT applicants who will come newly to Japan to study in the Graduate Program of Chuo University in September 2021 as non-degree students (Senkasei or Kenkyusei)*and plan to study at Chuo University as full-time degree-seeking students :

We are pleased to inform you that the MEXT scholarship from Chuo University is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

 

Contents of scholarship

(1) Scholarship:

 ¥143,000 per month

The amount of the scholarship in 2021 is subject to change without notice.

(2) Tuition Fee:

The grantee of this scholarship will be exempted from the tuition fee of Chuo

University.

(3) Travel expenses:

1)Travel expenses to come to Japan:

An economy class air ticket from an international airport nearest to the student’s current address (in home country) or home institution to basically the New Tokyo International Airport (Narita Airport).

2)Travel expenses to return to home country (only for students returning to their

    home country by the date designated by MEXT):

An economy class air ticket from basically the New Tokyo International Airport (Narita Airport) to an international airport* nearest to the student’s current address (in home country) or home institution.

*The grantee cannot use any airport other than the international airport located in the country of which the grantee has a citizenship.

*Other expenses related to traveling like international airport tax should be covered by students.

 

Duration of the Scholarship 

 

Up to 18 months from October 2021 to March 2023 In case a grantee desires to move on to a regular graduate course, duration of the scholarship may be extended under the condition that a recommendation through Chuo University is approved by MEXT. (The grantee is not able to apply for an extension of scholarship as a research student.)

  5. The study area must be in the same or related field as the applicant has studied in his/her undergraduate level
  6. Be proficient in Japanese or English. Proved by Japanese or English certificate

* Applicant’s GPA must be calculated using the MEXT system from Japanese MEXT Scholarship Information documentation

[Japan] Kumamoto University – MEXT Scholarship

Greetings from Kumamoto University, Japan!

Kumamoto is located in the center of Kyushu Island in Japan and is rich in nature. Kumamoto University is situated in Kumamoto City where the historic Kumamoto castle is surrounded by many trees. So, the city is called FOREST CITY. The University has a hill clad in fresh greenery behind the campus, giving us a tranquil atmosphere for studies. Kumamoto is also known for its high-quality freshwater springs, which provide drinking water to the residents.

Moreover, Kumamoto University is one of the oldest universities in Japan with seven faculties, eleven graduate schools, and 23 research centers/institutes (as of August 2017) that support a wide spectrum of educational and research activities.
