INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE COMPETITION – A ONE OF A KIND !
The 5th edition of the International Graduate Competition (IGC), the first international academic competition dedicated solely to graduate students worldwide, will be held from April 23rd to April 29th 2016. Malmö University was founded in 1998. Located in the centre of Malmö at Universitetsholmen, the university has played a central role in the transformation of Malmö from an industrial town to a centre of learning. Malmö is located in southern Sweden, close to Denmark and with easy access to mainland Europe. STEP-YU Yamagata University offers two short-term programs for international students, giving students from universities on exchange agreement the opportunity to study here while being registered at their home schools. These programs are generically called STEP-YU (Short-Term Exchange Program at Yamagata University). The compatibility of course credits and the number of students exempted by the host university from paying tuition are set in the agreement between Yamagata University and the partner universities.

To be eligible for Undergraduate Programmes, applicants must:
• be a citizen of a country other than Turkey (Anyone holding or ever held Turkish citizenship before cannot apply),
• not be a registered student in Turkish universities at the level of study they are applying,
• have graduated or are likely to graduate from a secondary education institution,
• born no earlier than 01.01.1995 for undergraduate programmes,
• have at least specified (% 90 for medical sciences, % 70 for other undergraduate programs) cumulative grade point average, diploma grade, national exam or international exam score,
• be in good health
To be eligible for Postgraduate Programmes, applicants must:
• be a citizen of a country other than Turkey (Anyone holding or ever held Turkish citizenship before cannot apply)
• not be a registered student in Turkish universities at the level of study they are applying.
• be a bachelor’s or master’s degree holder by 30th of July 2015 at the latest
• born no earlier than 01.01.1986 for master’s programmes,
• born no earlier than 01.01.1981 for doctorate programmes,
• have at least 75 % cumulative grade point average or diploma grade over their maximum graduation grade or have at least 75 % success in any accepted national or international graduate admissions test.

If you are an undergraduate student, you must register for Chinese-taught credit courses. If your Chinese language proficiency does not meet the requirements of your host university, you must take one academic year Chinese language/preparatory courses in one of the 10 designated universities and pass the required tests before moving on to your major studies. Failure to pass the required tests will lead to the automatic termination of your scholarship.
