[Japan] IPS, Waseda University -MEXT Scholarship

Warm greetings from Waseda University, Japan

 

Waseda University offered scholarship by the name of Fostering innovative leaders in IoT society from graduate School of Information, Production, and System. Along with the development of the IoT society, knowledge and creativity for integrating the latest elemental technologies and information systems have become increasingly important. In this program, students can learn to systematize and create platforms, while also learning the traditions and technologies of manufacturing that have been nurtured in Japan. The objective is to develop human resources who can practice technological innovation in the interdisciplinary field while studying information technology, manufacturing technology and strategies for putting research results into practical use. Graduates of this program are expected to contribute to technological innovation and promotion of economic growth in cooperation with countries and regions as a core leader in the IoT society, which will further develop in the future.

 

We are pleased to inform you that Fostering innovative leaders in IoT society MEXT Scholarship from Waseda University is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

 

Since this special program is fully supported by Japanese Government (MEXT), students will receive the following benefits.

  • Allowance: JPY 144,000 per month (Scholarship period: 2 years)
  • Travel expenses: Round air tickets will be provided
  • School fee: Entrance fee and tuitions will be exempt

Waseda Application Guide

 

Eligibility

  1. Those who were born on and after April 2. 1986 
  2. Have a Bachelor Degree
  3. Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
  4. Minimum GPA of  2.3 on a 4.0 scale
  5. Be proficient in English. Non-native English speakers must have a score of at least  Cambridge English 160 or more, GTEC 1190 or more, IELTS 5.5 or more, TEAP 600 or more, TOEFL iBT 72 or more, TOEIC L&R/TOEIC S&W 1560 or more

  5. Certificate of English Proficiency 
  6. Letter of Nomination from Faculty (addressed to Head of Office of International Affairs UGM)
  7. Letter of Enrollment from Faculty 
  8. Letter of Recommendation/Reference 
  9. Copy of passport photo identification page
  10. Passport picture
  11. Confirmation Letter of Participation (download)

Application Procedure

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than January 11th, 2021.
  2. OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Graduate School of Information, Production, and System, Waseda University and you may proceed to the online application
  3. The FINAL decision from Graduate School of Information, Production, and System, Waseda University

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • In the meantime, the applicant is required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
  • Application of outgoing mobility for fall/odd semester in AY 2020/2021 will be processed but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest development of COVID-19 and government’s regulation.
