Greetings from Universitas21!

Universitas 21 (U21) is a diverse, global network that brings together world-leading, research-intensive universities across six continents, who share a common belief in the value of collaboration and internationalization. From Belgium to Chile, South Korea to South Africa, our member-led initiatives and programmes are designed to benefit staff, students and member institutions, through sharing resources, learning together and co-designing solutions to our common challenges.

We are pleased to inform you that the application for U21 Global Citizens 2026 is open on 26 January and close on 13 February 2026.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

  • U21 Global Citizens is an online programme running over three weeks for students across our global network. You will become part of a global online cohort, completing independent activities designed to further your understanding of – and set actions to advance – the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Duration: 3 weeks (9-27 March 2026)

 

TIME COMMITMENT

Approximately 3.5 hours per week for three weeks, comprised of:

  • 1.5 hours live session per week
  • 2 hours per week of Individual work at own pace

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  1. Recommendation letter from the faculty
  2. Curriculum Vitae
  3. Academic transcript
  4. English Proficiency Certificate (any type and no minimum score)

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: https://ugm.id/U21GlobalCitizens2026 and https://universitas21.com/opportunities/for-students/globalcitizens/ no later than 12 February 2026 for internal review.
  2. OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Universitas21 and you may proceed to the online application 
  3. no later than 12 February 2026.
  4. The FINAL decision is from Universitas21.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
