Greetings from South Korea!

Hanyang University invites international students to the 2026 Hanyang International Summer School (HISS). Covering a wide range of academic fields—from Engineering and Business to Korean Studies and E-Sports—this program combines world-class education with unforgettable cultural excursions. This year, students can choose between the classic 4-week Seoul & Jeju experience or the exclusive 5-week program that extends the journey to Tokyo, Japan!

We are pleased to inform you that the application for Hanyang International Summer School 2026 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

PROGRAM TRACKS & FEES
As a partner institution, UGM students receive a special discounted rate. Note: All tracks require a mandatory, non-refundable KRW 100,000 Application Fee. International flights from/to Indonesia are NOT included.

Option 1: 4-Week HISS (Seoul + Jeju)

  • Dates: 28 June – 25 July 2026
  • Program Fee: KRW 2,000,000 (Partner Rate applied). Includes tuition for up to 3 courses, activities, and a one-way flight from Seoul to Jeju.
  • Accommodation Note: Housing in Jeju is included, but students must pay separately for their Seoul accommodation (approx. KRW 500,000 – 800,000 depending on the dorm type).

Option 2: 5-Week HYLION (Seoul + Jeju + Tokyo)

  • Dates: 28 June – 1 August 2026
  • Program Fee: KRW 5,000,000. All-inclusive fee covering tuition, accommodations for the full 5 weeks, flights between Seoul-Jeju and Jeju-Tokyo, special lectures at Waseda University, and excursions (including Tokyo Disneyland). Limited to 100 students globally.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Active UGM undergraduate or graduate students.
  • Must secure proper visas (e.g., K-ETA or C-3 for Korea; short-term stay visa for Japan if selecting the 5-week track).

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Students must apply directly to Hanyang University.
  2. Complete the online application via www.hanyangsummer.com.
  3. Deadline for 5-Week HYLION Track: 30 April 2026
  4. Deadline for 4-Week HISS Track: 23 May 2026
  5. Admission, course registration, and dorm placements are strictly on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis upon payment.
  6. The FINAL decision is from Hanyang University.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
