ABOUT THE PROGRAM
- Waseda University Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies International Relations Program has been selected for the International Priority Graduate Program (PGP) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). The PGP program, established by MEXT to support programs with international appeal to foreign students, provides priority allocation for government financed foreign students. The Program will continue from AY 2024 to AY 2026.
ELIGIBILITY
- Holders of a Master’s Degree or Professional Master’s Degree or those who are scheduled to receive such a degree by September 2026 (for PhD applicants)
- Those who have graduated or are scheduled to graduate from a university in Japan by September 2026 (for MA applicants)
- Must have earned 2.30 GPA or above
- Those who were born on and after April 2nd,1991

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Apply directly to Mext Scholarship. Kindly refer to Online Application Portal.
- The deadline is 16 December 2025.
- The FINAL decision is from MEXT Scholarship and GSAPS Waseda University.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
- In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
