ASEA-UNINET supports the exchange of knowledge between partner universities and member countries in Europe and South-East Asia. In this context, the network supports the exchange of scientists and postgraduates and the transfer of knowledge associated.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

  • The Ernst Mach – ASEA-UNINET Short-term Research Grant is open to postdocs from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam who would like to conduct a short research stay in Austria at an ASEA-UNINET member university in Austria and who
    are involved in teaching and/or research at an ASEA-UNINET member university.

 

GRANTS DETAIL

  • Target Group: Postdoc researchers who are involved in teaching and/or research at an ASEA-UNINET member university* in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, or Vietnam
  • Duration: 1 or 2 months
  • Grant benefit: 1,300 per month; grant recipients from Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar may also receive a travel costs subsidy of up to 1,200 Euro

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Citizenship: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, or Vietnam (only applicants who hold the citizenship of one of these countries are eligible to apply)
  • Target Country: Austria
  • Area of Study: All fields of study: Natural Sciences, Technical Sciences, Human Medicine, Health
    Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities
  • Maximum Age: Postdocs: 45 years (child-raising periods may be taken into account)
  • Language Proficiency: Very good knowledge of English and/or German.

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  1. Written consent of the supervisor at the Austrian host university. Such a written consent may only be issued by a researcher or lecturer who is affiliated with an Austrian ASEA-UNINET member university and who holds a “Venia Docendi”, e.g. a Full or Associate Professor.
  2. Written consent of the ASEA-UNINET coordinator at the cooperating Austrian university.
  3. Written consent of the ASEA-UNINET coordinator at the cooperating ASEAN university.
  4. Written consent of the ASEA-UNINET national coordinator of the ASEAN member country. For these letters of consent, no specific form is required; however, they must bear the letterhead, date and signature of the coordinator as well as the stamp of the university/department and must not be older than six months at the time of application.
  5. Copy of passport
  6. PhD certificate as well as an English or German translation.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Apply directly to ASEA-UNINET. Kindly refer to the Application Guide. 
  2. This is an ongoing applications (to be submitted 2-9 months prior to planned research stay).
  3. The FINAL decision is from ASEA-UNINET.
