An official signing ceremony of the agreement on the transfer of the academic license of the Russian software TransNet to Universitas Gadjah Mada for inclusion in the educational program was held on September 27 within the framework of the International Exhibition Elektrotrans 2023 in Moscow. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Berlian Helmy, Vice Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Russia, representatives of the university Prof. Puji Astuti, Ph.D. (Director of Partnerships and Global Relations), Mr. Ir. Ikaputra, M.Eng., Ph.D. (Head of Transportation and Logistics Study Center), and Prof. Alexander Polyakov, С.Eng, (Professor, co-founder of TransNet LLC).
The collaboration agreement includes giving UGM the Russian TransNet software for designing transportation and infrastructure solutions.
With the help of TransNet software, UGM students can determine where to build or reconstruct a road, bridge, or parking lot, how to organize the operation of public transport and transportation hubs, how to develop and ensure transport accessibility, and much more.
The partnership between UGM and TransNet will be a new step towards digitalizing Indonesia’s urban planning, construction, road and transport sectors. The agreement strengthens the close cooperation between Indonesia and Russia on the exchange of experience between students and faculty. This partnership will serve talented young specialists’ professional, academic, and creative development. Hence, this collaboration will support the university &’s digital transformation and sustainable technology implementation.
The signing of the cooperation agreement results from the long work and great efforts of three parties: the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Russia, TransNet and UGM. As a result of signing the agreement, an educational program and methodology will be implemented based on Universitas Gadjah Mada in such areas as transport modelling, transport planning of cities, and strategic management of logistics infrastructure, said Prof. Puji Astuti, Ph.D. (Director of Partnerships and Global Relations).
The agreement with TransNet LLC develops a practice-oriented approach to the Indonesian universities to prepare highly qualified professionals for the construction, road and transportation industry.
– We cooperate with foreign universities by transferring software licenses for inclusion in educational programs. This is how we invest in the future because our goal is to develop and promote Russian IT solutions in the global market. We are happy to cooperate with new partners from Indonesia and thank the Vice Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, who made this cooperation possible. Now, even more, students will get real experience with modelling technologies from the world &’s best mathematics school, which will help them in their professional development," commented Alexander Polyakov, co-founder of TransNet LLC.
TransNet software is the first Russian software product that allows designing the entire list of urban planning transformations, both in terms of transportation and
other infrastructure solutions in terms of forecasting the intensity of automobile and passenger flow in transportation networks.
Transnet can create a model of a city, an agglomeration, or even the whole
country. In other words, the object of modelling can be the transport systems of cities and road networks of any size. The product is a fully independent
development of scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences and does not use third-party software products.
TransNet software has been in the transport modelling market for 24 years. During this time, about 500 projects have been realized. TransNet program is included in the agenda of 14 Russian universities.
Thanks to the program, the first transport macro-model of Moscow and the transport network model in a dozen cities were created.
