[Japan] Kansai University Short Term Programs 2023

Warm Greetings from Kansai University, Japan!

Kansai University was founded as Kansai Law School in November 1886, in the large commercial city of Osaka. Its founders consisted of a dozen people who were judicial officers and businesspersons. Kansai University has seen remarkable development over its many years. The University celebrated its 133rd anniversary in 2019. Kansai University has 13 faculties, 13 graduate schools, and three professional graduate schools, as well as a preparatory course for international students. Over its long history, all those involved in building its institution have had to overcome various hardships to achieve such prestigious standing.

We are pleased to announce that the Kansai University Short-Term Programs 2023 application is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students. The Short-term programs include the Intensive Japanese Language and Culture Course (IJLC) and Summer School.

 

1. Intensive Japanese Language and Culture Course (IJLC)

Course content: 

Japanese language classes, Japanese culture experience, field trip and interaction with Kansai University students.

Course feature: 

Kansai University Students as conversation partners will support the conversation and discussion in classes. There are many opportunities to talk with Kansai University students, and a variety of classes are offered, including Japanese for daily situations, Japanese Studies, Traditional Japanese Culture, Academic Japanese, and more.

Schedule:

Summer 1: Thursday, June 1, 2023 – Saturday, June 24, 2023, 24 days (face-to-face course)

Summer 2: Monday, July 3, 2023 – Wednesday, July 26, 2023, 24 days (face-to-face course)

Application period:

Monday, December 19, 2022 – Friday, March 17, 2023

 

2. Summer School 2023

Guideline: Application Guideline(Summer School 2023)

Course content:

The English- mediated course: Learning Osaka, the Mercantile Capital of Japan is held in English.  The course provides students of opportunities to learn the history and culture of Osaka in depth through lectures and hands-on experience.  They also can expect to understand “entrepreneurial spirit” by observing the history, actual and current situation of companies with roots in Osaka.  Introductory Japanese course is also available as an option for students who wish to study Japanese language.

・Tuesday July 4- Wednesday July 18, 2023 (First cycle)

・Thursday July 20 – Thursday August 3, 2023 (Second cycle)

Four-week Unit 

・Tuesday July 4- Thursday August 3, 2023

  • The FINAL decision of participants is from Kansai University. No nomination is needed from OIA UGM. But if you need a nomination letter from Universitas Gadjah Mada, please submit your aforementioned documents through http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication
