Overview

The ecosystem approach is an important aspect of disaster risk management. Integrating ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction refers to working on dynamic, iterative, and interactive issues and also promotes problem-based solutions. This course provides the participants with a thorough theoretical framework and presents practical tools for understanding the linkage between ecosystems and disaster occurrences.

The main idea of this course is to promote and institutionalize ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction in order to maintain sustainability, through numerous real-world examples and most recent cases.

This course is developed in collaboration with researchers and practitioners from Centers for Natural Resources and Development (CNRD) university network partners and implements a worldwide standard curriculum. To ensure the quality of knowledge sharing and achieve the designated outcome, this course involves lecturers and participants from the top 100 QS University World Ranking globally and by Subject (Geography).
