Greetings from the British Council!

The Going Global Partnerships program has officially launched the TNE (Transnational Education) Exploratory Grants 2026. This funding initiative aims to support new and strengthen existing TNE partnerships between UK higher education providers and Indonesian institutions, fostering inclusive international education and contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We are pleased to inform you that British Council TNE Exploratory Grants 2026 (UK-Indonesia) is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada faculties and research centers.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • Grant Amount: Up to £25,000 per project.
  • Project Length: 17 months (Starting January 2027).
  • Objectives:
    • Promote inclusive access to high-quality education through long-term institutional change.
    • Facilitate regulatory and operational environments for TNE partnerships.
    • Promote positive changes in local education systems aligned with the SDGs.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Indonesia Lead: Must be a recognized higher education institution (UGM acts as the Indonesian lead).
  • UK Lead: Must be a UK higher education provider with degree-awarding powers.
  • Note: UGM must apply in direct partnership with an eligible UK counterpart.

 

IMPORTANT TIMELINES & PROCEDURES
Applications must be submitted jointly with your UK partner institution.

  1. Clarification Deadline: 8 June 2026. Any direct queries regarding the call must be submitted to goingglobalpartnerships-TNE@britishcouncil.org by this date.
  2. UK-Indonesia Info Session: Friday, 5 July 2026 at 15:00 WIB (9:00 AM UK Time).
  3. Submission Deadline: 6 July 2026 at 11:59 AM BST.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
