We are pleased to inform you that the application for SIT Course-taking Sandwich Program 2021-2022 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.
Program Information
The Course-taking Sandwich Program is where the student continues to be registered at their home university, while studying 1 semester or 2 semesters at SIT. For example, the student may study for their first two years at their home university, study at SIT for the third year, and then return to home university to complete their studies. In the SIT Course-Taking Sandwich Program 2020 Fall to 2021 Spring (September 2021 to July 2022), students will take varied fields of study such as Mechanical, Materials, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, Architecture, Civil and System.
Scholarship
We are pleased to inform you that there will be a scholarship opportunity from ‘Sato Yo Scholarship Foundation’ to one Indonesian or Thai student for the SIT Course-Taking Sandwich Program 2020 Fall to 2021 Spring.
Benefit:
– Scholarship; JPY120,000 per month
– Lump sum: JPY100,000
– Round trip ticket
– Transportation fee from the airport to the accommodation upon the arrival to Japan
Condition:
– Indonesian or Thailand nationality
– Must be a student of the SIT partner university in Indonesia or Thailand
– Must participate in the SIT Course-Taking Sandwich Program from Fall 2021 to Spring 2022
– Have GPA 3.00 or above on a 4.00 scale
Admission procedure:
– UGM as a partner university will select one candidate for the scholarship.
– Submission of the applicant’s CV, transcript and attached application forms (form B and C) by February 14th, 2021. Form B will be filled by home university and form C will be filled by the applicant.
Eligibility
- Undergraduate (S1) or Graduate (S2) students
- Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
- Be proficient in English. Non-native English speakers must have a score of at least TOEFL iBT 72, IELTS 5.5, or CEFR B2

Application Procedure
- Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than February 13th, 2021 for internal review. Please, keep the hard file documents with you.
- OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to SIT and you may proceed to the online application.
- The FINAL decision from SIT.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
- In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id).
- Application of outgoing mobility for the fall semester in AY 2021/2022 will be processed but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest development of COVID-19 and government’s regulation.
