[Japan] Nara Women’s University – Students Exchange Program AY 2021/2022

Greetings from Nara Women’s University!

Nara Women’s University exists to provide female students with the highest learning environment, and its main purpose has been to foster women who can succeed in society through education and research. Therefore, the university’s regular students are all female and most of the exchange students are female as well.

We are pleased to inform you that the Application for NWU Student Exchange Program AY 2021/2022 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

Eligibility

  • 3rd to 6th-semester undergraduate students (S1)
  • Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program

Required Documents

  1. Application form for Nara Women’s University (download)
  2. Four photos (W:3cm x L:4cm, white background color, taken within the past three months) *including one used for the application form
  3. Official Academic Transcript
  4. Letter of Enrollment from Faculty
  5. Health Certificate (after nominated)
  6. Recommendation Letter from Academic Advisor
  7. JLPT Certificate (for applicants to programs taught in the Japanese Language only)
  8. English language proficiency  (Min. Score of TOEFL – ITP=550, iBT 80 or IELTS 6.0)
  9. Colored Copy of Passport
  10. Curriculum Vitae (download)
  11. Financial Statement (This document is required to prove a student can meet her living expenses during her stay in Japan. A certificate issued from a bank that proves the existence of the financial supporter (as mentioned in the application) bank account, the account number, and the balance are acceptable; after nominated only).

Application Procedure

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to the Office of International Affairs, UGM for internal review.
  2. OIA staff will evaluate your application.
  3. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will send your nomination to Nara Women’s University for host-university selection.
  4. THE FINAL decision from Nara Women’s University.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
  • Priority will be given to students who have decided to defer the exchange program from Fall Semester 2020 to Spring 2021 due to Covid-19 Pandemy Mobility Restriction Policy from Universitas Gadjah Mada.
  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
  • Application of outgoing mobility for fall/odd semester in AY 2020/2021 will be processed but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest development of COVID-19 and government’s regulation.
