Warm greetings from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) in Beppu, Japan!

Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) is a private institution established on April 1st, 2000. Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University possesses a strong vision looking forward to the year 2030. APU’s philosophy is to create a university campus that produces graduates with the skills they need to contribute to international society based on the fundamental principles of Freedom, Peace and Humanity, International Mutual Understanding, and the Future Shape of the Asia Pacific Region. Thus, the students of the university took the idea of shaping their world to new heights.

We are delighted to inform you that the Application for Ritsumeikan APU Students Exchange Program for Spring 2021 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

Scholarship
JASSO Scholarship is offered. However, not every student will be awarded the scholarship. Therefore, it is important for applicants to be ready financially for their living costs during exchange in Ritsumeikan APU.

Eligibility

  • 3rd to 6th-semester undergraduate students (S1)
  • Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program

Required Documents

  1. Printed Online Application Data (after nominated)
  2. Application Checklist
  3. Letter of Enrollment from Faculty
  4. Official Academic Transcript
  5. Confirmation Note of Application for “Certificate of Eligibility” by proxy
  6. Colored copy of passport
  7. Passport-size Photos (4 pieces, 3.5 x 4.5 cm, white background color, taken within the past three months)
  8. Proof of Funds (certificate of deposit balance issued by Bank, Scholarship Letter, etc | after nominated)
  9. “Study Abroad Financial Support Plan” Form (after nominated)
  10. “Statement of Financial Support” Form (after nominated)
  11. English language proficiency  (Min. Score of TOEFL – ITP=530, iBT 80 or IELTS 6.0)
  12. “JASSO Scholarship Application” (for students who want to apply for JASSO Scholarship only)
  13. Curriculum Vitae
  14. Motivation Letter
  15. Letter of Nomination from Faculty (addressed to the Head of Office of International Affairs UGM)
  16. Confirmation Letter of Participation (download)

Application Procedure

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to the Office of International Affairs, UGM for internal review.
  2. OIA UGM will evaluate your application.
  3. Once you are selected as Nominated Student, OIA will send your application to Ritsumeikan APU and you may proceed to the online application for host-university selection.
  4. The FINAL decision from Ritsumeikan APU.
Please register your application and send all documents above in softcopy (compiled in 1 PDF File) to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than September 15th, 2020. 
IMPORTANT NOTES:
  • Priority will be given to students who have decided to defer the exchange program from Fall Semester 2020 to Spring 2021 due to Covid-19 Pandemy Mobility Restriction Policy from Universitas Gadjah Mada.
  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
  • Application of outgoing mobility for fall/odd semester in AY 2020/2021 will be processed but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest development of COVID-19 and government’s regulation.
