Kansai University of International Studies (KUIS) was first established as a two-year women’s junior college in 1987. In 1998, it became a four-year college to add a new page to the history of universities in Japan. KUIS is known as a university with a strong educational component and enjoys an excellent reputation for designing and developing educational programs and for the level of learning achievements attained.
We are pleased to inform you that the application for KUIS Student Exchange Program for Fall 2020 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

Eligibility
- 3rd to 6th-semester undergraduate students (S1)
- 3rd to 4th-semester graduate students (S2/S3)
- Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program

- Letter of Enrollment from Faculty
- Letter of Nomination from Faculty (addressed to the Head of Office of International Affairs UGM)
- Official Academic Transcript
- Letter of Recommendation from Academic Advisor
- Curriculum Vitae
- Motivation Letter
- Confirmation Letter of Participation (download)
- Colored Copy of Passport
- Documents checklist (provided in the application pack)
- KUIS Exchange Student Application Form (Form 1 | provided in the application pack)
- Application for Certificate of Eligibility (Form 2 | provided in the application pack)
- A government document to prove the relationship between the student and the sponsor/supporter specified in Form No. 2
- Certificate of income
- 6 Passport-sized photos (W30mm×H40mm | white background, name and home university on the back)
- Certificate of health (Form 3 | provided in the application pack)
- Proof on Japanese Proficiency (if any)
- A document that certifies that the applicant is a recipient of a scholarship from his/her own country (if any)
- Certificate of English Language Proficiency (Min. Score of TOEFL – ITP=530, iBT 80 or IELTS 6.0)
Application Procedure
- Submit the aforementioned documents to the Office of International Affairs, UGM for internal review.
- OIA staff will evaluate your application.
- Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will send your official nomination to Kansai University of International Studies for host-university selection.
- The FINAL decision from the Kansai University of International Studies.
- For the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice upon nomination result by the Office of International Affairs.
- Application of outgoing mobility for fall/odd semester in AY 2020/2021 will be processed but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest development of COVID-19 and government’s regulation.
