If you would like to study to Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), Korea, we invite you to apply through our online system.

[Exchange Student Eligibility]

Exchange students must have completed at least one semester at their home university at the time of participation in this program and their GPA should be over 2.5 out of 4.0.

As of Fall 2019 entry, all students must submit official test score of TOPIK Level 3 or TOEFL 530 in order to be approved. Letters of reference can no longer be accepted in their place. This is also applicable to students who are taking the Intensive Korean Language Program only.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  1. Printed version of Online Exchange Application form http://webs.hufs.ac.kr:8989/src08/jsp/fexchange/index.html
  2. 1 brief essay of personal history and plan of study
  3. 1 copy of academic transcript
  4. 1 certificate of current enrollment at home university
  5. 1 copy of evidence of proficiency in English language or reference letter
  6. 1 copy of the information page of passport
  7. Dorm application form
  8. Health examination form (Dorm applicants only)
  9. 1 photos (3X4cm) with white background color (in JPG file)
  10. Curriculum Vitae
  11. Motivation Letter
  12. Certificate of Enrollment from faculty
  13. Letter of Recommendation from academic advisor
  14. Letter of Nomination from faculty (*addressed to Head of Office of International Affairs)
  15. Korean language proficiency (*if any)

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to Office of International Affairs, UGM (Bulaksumur F-12) for internal review.
  2. OIA will evaluate your application.
  3. Once you are selected as Nominated Student, you may continue apply online to Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) as for host university selection.
  4. FINAL decision from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS).

Please send all documents above in 2 COPIES to Office of International Affairs, UGM (Bulaksumur Block F-12)and 1 Softcopy (Scan all applicants’ filled-out application materials in PDF File) by email to scholarship@ugm.ac.id no later than April 10, 2019.

Please note that for exchange students who wish to take the Intensive Korean Language Program during the regular semester period, it is offered for free and HUFS will cover the full amount of fees.

If a student wishes to take the Intensive Korean Language Program during the winter or summer vacation, the student must pay the fee at his/her own expense. The standard fee is 1,550,000 KRW but we are offering a 30% discounted rate to exchange students, which is 1,085,000 KRW (approx. USD 1,000).
