What does it mean to become part of an international organization as a university student? Beyond joining a community, it is an opportunity to develop leadership, expand global perspectives, and contribute to meaningful change. These values were reflected in Youth Today x Join AIESEC (YTJA) 2026, organized by AIESEC in UGM as part of its annual membership recruitment.

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed a courtesy visit from a delegation of the University of Tartu, Estonia, on Wednesday, 16 September 2026. The visit marks a new milestone in the partnership between the two universities under the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programme.

Two Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) students brought Indonesian youth perspectives to a regional platform through their participation as student representatives at the 2nd AUN-SAN VOX (Voice, Opportunity and eXchange) Meeting 2026, held at Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, from 2–5 September 2026.

A group of 13 international students from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) took part in the Jogja Fashion Carnival (JFC) 2026, held along Jalan Malioboro, Yogyakarta, on August 22, 2026. Their participation brought an international touch to the annual cultural and fashion celebration, while giving the students an opportunity to experience Yogyakarta’s cultural heritage firsthand.

Head of Jardine Foundation, Mrs. Retno Marsudi, visited the Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) alongside Jardine Foundation representatives on 12 August 2026. They were welcomed by UGM Rector Prof. Ova Emilia, accompanied by the Vice Rector for Research, Business Development, and Partnerships alongside Office of International Affairs representatives.

The Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Prof. Ova Emilia, welcomed the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Indonesia, H.E. Dr. Sultan bin Mubarak Saad Al-Dosari, during a courtesy visit on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Rector’s Meeting Room. The Rector was accompanied by the Vice Rector for Research, Business Development, and Partnerships, along with representatives from several faculties and directorates across the university.

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) reaffirmed its commitment to advancing regional higher education by participating in the 17th ASEAN University Network (AUN) Rectors’ Meeting and the 41st ASEAN University Network Board of Trustees (AUN-BOT) Meeting, held at the Grand Hyatt Singapore on 23–24 July 2026. 

A collaborative project led by students from the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada named GELORA recently won the Most Impact Award for the 2026 Universitas 21 (U21) Real Impact on Society and Environment (RISE) Awards.
