Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) in Beppu, Japan is currently accepting the nominations and applications for 2017 Spring exchange program. Please refer to the information below.
Course Level: Undergraduate Only
Duration of Exchange: 1 Semester or 1 Academic Year
Colleges: College of Asia Pacific Studies (APS), College of International Management (APM) (Note: Students must choose one college they would like to enroll in but will be able to take courses from both colleges. It is advised that students choose a college that is most similar to their program at their home university.)
Language of Instruction: English and Japanese
Number of Weeks of Study 1 semester is 14 weeks (plus 2 weeks of exams)
Number of Hours per Week per Course: 4 classes×95 minutes (for semester-based language course), 1 class×95 minutes (for semester-based major course), 2 classes×95minutes for quarter-based major course)
Required Number of Credits: at least 10 credits in one semester (4 to 5 courses)

The Hitachi Global Foundation strives to realize its mission by providing support to promising faculty members at the universities in Southeast Asia through the Hitachi Scholarship. The goals of the program are to promote:
1. Development of human resources of the universities in Southeast Asia contributing to improvement of education, enhancement of collaboration and cooperation among the universities in Southeast Asia and Japan.
2. Development of a collaborative network among university faculty members in Southeast Asia and Japan.
3. Enhancement of cultural understanding and closer relationships among Southeast Asian and Japan.

The Hitachi Scholarship consists of the following two programs:
 
The Hitachi Scholarship Doctoral Program
This program is offered to university faculty members who would like to take a Doctoral Course in science and technology at a Japanese graduate school. The program has been devised to encourage scholars to return to their universities to continue their educational and research pursuits after completion of their studies in Japan. Under the program, a total of 182 faculty members has been invited since 1985.

The Hitachi Scholarship Research Fellowship
This program has been devised to encourage university faculty members who would like to conduct short-term post-doctoral research in science and technology. The program has been devised to allow fellows to enhance their professional backgrounds and to promote academic collaboration through development of relations with Japanese universities and institutions. Under the program, a total of 192 faculty members has been invited since 1986.

[Southeast Asia] SEARCA – Master & Ph.D. Scholarship 2016/2017

The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA)’s Graduate Study Program was initiated in School Year 1968/1969. Over four decades, the scope of the Graduate Study Program has expanded to include institutional development, networking, and services to enhance graduate education in the region. SEARCA has also been providing services for administration of scholarship funds under the sponsorship of institutions other than SEAMEO.
For more than four decades SEARCA has awarded more than 1,500 scholarships to nationals of SEAMEO regular member countries, namely: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam to pursue advanced studies leading to master’s and doctoral degrees in agriculture, forestry, and related sciences.
For Academic Year 2014-2015, SEARCA has now granted a total of 58 new scholarships, which brings us to a total of 128 current/ongoing scholars, as of February 2015.

The Universität Leipzig is international. Around 28.500 students from Germany and all over the world are enrolled in a degree programme at the second eldest university in Germany. True to the maxim ‘A Tradition of Crossing Boundaries’ our Alma mater Lipsiensis maintains a great variety of successful international partnerships. The more than 2.800 foreign students are an essential part of the internationalscholarly discourse and a greatsupport for the development of the university into an academic institution beyond boundaries. The Universität Leipzig is all about innovation, interdisciplinarity, and – having 14 faculties – offers a wide range of study and research options. The Universität Leipzig was the “cradle” of many important figures in the fields of philosophy, music, literature, natural and social sciences as well as politics. DAAD Helmut-Schmidt-Programme (Master’s Scholarships for Public Policy and Good Governance) 2017

What are the objectives of the programme? This programme is designed to further qualify future leaders in politics, law, economics and administration according to the principles of Good Governance and to prepare them in a praxis-oriented course for their professional life. Very good graduates with a first university degree get the chance to obtain a Master’s degree in disciplines that are of special relevance to the social, political and economic development of their home country. The knowledge and experience acquired in Germany should enable the scholarship holders to later contribute to the establishment of democratically oriented economic and social systems aimed at overcoming social differences. In addition, the training at German institutions of higher education should qualify the scholarship holders to become partners in the political and economic co-operation with Germany. With this programme, DAAD intends to contribute to the support of good governance and civil society structures in selected partner countries and regions. The scholarship scheme is open to graduates in the field of social sciences, political sciences, law, economics and in public administration. Target group Very well qualified graduates with a first university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) who want to actively contribute to the social and economic development of their home countries. The scholarships are offered both for young graduates without professional experience and for mid-career professionals. What is fundable? The scholarships are awarded for selected Master courses at German institutions of higher education listed below. The study programmes will start in September/October 2017. The courses have an international orientation and are taught in German and/or English.  Prior to their study programmes all scholarship holders will receive a 6-months- German language course from April 2017 to September 2017. The language courses take place at selected institutes in Germany and not at the universities of the selected study programme. The language course is compulsory also for those who will attend a Master course taught in English. The scholarship holders will be offered a special tutoring at their host institutions financed by DAAD. Furthermore, there is the possibility to attend networking events.  DAAD pays a monthly scholarship rate of currently 750 €. The scholarship also includes contributions to health insurance in Germany. In addition, DAAD grants an appropriate travel allowance and a study and research subsidy as well as rent subsidies and/or allowances for spouses and/or children where applicable. DAAD- scholarship holders are exempt from tuition fees. Application and Further Information : Download –>
