[Japan] Tohoku University – Tohoku University Summer Program (TUJP&TUIP)

Greetings from Tohoku University, Japan!

Tohoku University was established as Japan’s third national university in 1907. We are pleased to inform you that the call for Tohoku University Japanese Program (TUJP) and Immersion in Japan Program (TUIP) in summer 2020 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

Eligibility:

  1. Full-time undergraduate student
  2. Pre-intermediate learners of the Japanese language (TUIP applicants only)

Required Documents

  1. Curriculum Vitae
  2. Letter of Nomination from faculty (*addressed to Head of Office of International Affairs)
  3. Certificate of Enrollment from Faculty
  4. Colored Copy of Passport
  5. Passport-size photo (2 pieces, 3.5 x 4.5 cm, white background color, taken within the past three months)
  6. English language proficiency (Min. Score of TOEFL – ITP=530, iBT 80 or IELTS 6.0)
  7. Result of TTBJ/SPOT90 Japanese test* (TUIP applicants only)
  8. Copy of Official Academic Transcript
  9. Confirmation Letter of Participation (download)
  10. Personal statement (300-400 words): Personal Statement Sheet

* TTBJ/SPOT90 Japanese online test: http://ttbj1.cegloc.tsukuba.ac.jp/apply/agree/. Please choose “SPOT90+Grammar90+漢字SPOT50”.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to the Office of International Affairs, UGM (Bulaksumur F-13) for internal review.
  2. OIA staff will evaluate your application.
  3. Once you are selected as Nominated Student, you may proceed to the online application (Do not fill the online form before you are selected as nominated students)
  4. THE FINAL decision from Tohoku University.

Please send all documents above in hardcopy (2 COPIES) to Office of International Affairs, UGM (Bulaksumur Block F-13) and softcopy (compiled in 1 PDF file) to scholarship@ugm.ac.id no later than January 24th, 2020 for TUIP and February 10th, 2020 for TUJP.
