[Extended Deadline][Indonesia] The Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (SYLFF) for Master & Doctorate Students at UGM AY 2024/2025

Universitas Gadjah Mada with support from The Nippon Foundation through the fellowship program known as the “Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund Program” (SYLFF) is offering UGM-SYLFF Fellowship which exclusively awards shortlisted applicants to pursue the graduate program on the subject of Social Sciences and Humanities in Universitas Gadjah Mada. The UGM-SYLFF Fellowship is an innovative approach to the lasting cooperation of the UGM and Tokyo Foundation under the Sylff consortium with 69 other universities in 44 countries.

The fellowship offers Master & Doctorate Scholarship Program for excellent Indonesian and non Indonesian graduates who are willing to apply to study in social sciences and humanities at Universitas Gadjah Mada.

UGM-SYLFF Fellowship offers a research-based master and doctorate program for one academic year (entry admission August 2024-ongoing or February 2025) focusing on social and humanities. This scholarship will be given to prospective students already in their 1st semester at UGM or will be entering program by February 2025.

Required Documents

  1. Completed Online Application Form
  2. Letter of Acceptance/Admission from the Program Study at UGM for 2024/2025 Academic Year (August 2024/February 2025 Admission Entrance)
  3. A copy of the academic transcript and diploma/ bachelor degree from UGM of the previous degree
  4. A copy of your English Proficiency Test certificate with a minimum score of : TOEFL iBT 78, IELTS – 6.0, or Duolingo English Test – 100
  5. CV or Résumé
  6. One page letter of motivation/study plan (no specific format required)
  7. Research plan
  8. Letter(s) of recommendation from academic supervisors
  9. Endorsement letter from the university/faculty/unit kerja (for those staff/lecturers or working status if available)

Application Procedure

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to the Office of International Affairs, UGM for administration review.
  2. OIA staff will evaluate your application.
  3. Once you are selected as Applicants, OIA will send your official nomination to SYLFF for final selection.
  4. The FINAL decision from SYLFF.
Please register your application and send all documents above in softcopy (compiled in 1 PDF File) to UGM Scholarship Application Form no later than 31 December 2024 EXTENDED Deadline 15 January 2025.
