Warm Greetings from Kyushu University, Japan!

Kyushu University, abbreviated to Kyudai, is a Japanese national university located in Fukuoka, on the island of Kyushu. It was the 4th Imperial Universities in Japan, ranked 4th in the 2020 Times Higher Education Japan University Rankings, and selected as a Top Type university of Top Global University Project by the Japanese government.

Kyushu University invite UGM Students to their program , “Q-PELS (Kyushu University Program for Emerging Leaders in Science)”, which is a research-oriented student exchange program for graduate and undergraduate students.

Requirements

  1. Applicants must be full‐time registered degree‐seeking students at their home institution with a student exchange agreement with Kyushu University. 
  2. Applicants must be in excellent academic performance at their home institutions. 
  3. Applicants must be reminded as full‐time registered degree‐seeking students at their home institution after completing this program. (Graduation/completion of a regular course of study at their home universities during participation in this program is not acceptable.)
  4. Applicants must meet other requirements by the host laboratory or host faculty member.

Language Proficiency

  1. English: TOEFL iBT 80 or higher/ IELTS 6.0 or higher/Cambridge English with CEFR B2 level or higher/Official document (certificate/letter) which proves English is the medium of instruction at their school/graduate school/faculty.
  2. Japanese: JLPT N2 or higher

  3. Official Academic Transcript record
  4. Research/Study Plan
  5. A recommendation letter from an academic supervisor
  6. Copy of diploma (for postgraduate student)
  7. Letter of Enrollment from Faculty
  8. Letter of Nomination from Faculty (addressed to the Head of Office of International Affairs UGM)
  9. Language Proficiency Certificate
  10. Copy of passport photo identification page
  11. Passport-sized picture
  12. Confirmation Letter of Participation (download)

Application Procedure

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than January 25, 2023
  2. OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Kyushu University, and you may proceed to the online application
