The State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science (MEL) at Xiamen University invites outstanding undergraduate students to apply for the 2026 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program (URF). Participants will engage in cutting-edge interdisciplinary projects spanning marine biogeochemistry, marine ecology, physical oceanography, remote sensing, and the marine economy.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
- Duration: Flexible 1–2 month period between July and August 2026.
- Activities: Hands-on research, laboratory experiments, fieldwork, data analysis, seminars, and presentations.
- Location: Xiamen University, China.
ELIGIBILITY & BENEFITS
- Active full-time UGM undergraduate students passionate about marine science, technology, economy, or management.
- Stipend: Up to 1,700 CNY (pretax) per month.
- Housing: Free on-campus accommodation.
- Travel: Round-trip travel expenses are covered by the host institution.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Students must apply directly to Xiamen University.
- Review the research project listings and prepare your application via the Official MEL Website.
- The direct application deadline is 8 May 2026. The FINAL decision is from Xiamen University.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
- In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
