We are excited to share the latest student recruitment information for Hong Kong Postgraduate Studies for the 2026/2027 academic year. Ranked 17th in the QS Best Student Cities 2026, Hong Kong offers a highly internationalized environment, world-class institutions, and serves as a premier gateway to the Chinese Mainland.

We are pleased to inform you that applications for various postgraduate programs in Hong Kong are now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students and alumni. English is widely used and serves as the primary medium of instruction.

TYPES OF PROGRAMMES

1. Research Postgraduate Studies (Ph.D. / M.Phil.)

  • Focus primarily on research work and methodologies in a specific discipline.
  • Require a strong academic background and preferably solid research experience.
  • Further information can be found on the Research Postgraduate Studies page.

2. Taught Postgraduate Studies (Doctoral / Master’s / Diplomas / Certificates)

  • Focus mainly on coursework.
  • Programme structures and assessment methods vary widely by the area of study.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Hong Kong offers abundant funding support for international postgraduate students. Various forms of financial aid are available, including:

  • Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme
  • Scholarships and Prizes
  • Postgraduate Studentships
  • Grants and Loans

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Students must apply directly to their chosen institutions in Hong Kong.

  1. Visit www.grad.edu.hk to explore the available universities, programs, and specific admission requirements.
  2. Follow the direct application procedures for your target university. The deadlines vary by institution and program.
  3. The FINAL decisions are made by the respective universities in Hong Kong.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
