Waseda University is a prestigious private research university located in Tokyo, Japan. Established in 1882, it is one of the oldest and most well-respected universities in the country. ADDED INFORMATION
- Each School/Graduate School/Center has different application requirements. Please be sure to check the notes written on the Lists of Schools carefully with your students. Students must meet ALL the application requirements of the School/Graduate School/Center they apply. Application requirements (especially GPA and language proficiency score) for each department may change each year. Please be aware that in case your student does not meet the requirements, they won’t have the eligibility to apply.
- In principle, students can only take courses from the School/Graduate School/Center they apply to. Therefore, students must carefully check the course list when choosing which School/Graduate School/ Center to apply.
- If a student has taken a leave of absence due to military service or other reasons, please have the study abroad coordinator issue a letter stating the student’s leave of absence and the expected date of return. Additionally, please instruct the student to upload this letter during the online application process.
- JASSO scholarships are NOT granted to incoming students.
ELIGIBILITY
- Undergraduate students (S1) or Graduate students (S2/S3)
- Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Be proficient in English

- Passport Size Photo
- ID photo sheets of your students by POST. In case you are not able to send the photos physically for unavoidable circumstances, please consult with us by e-mail. Please note that the photos that are the same as the applicant’s passport photo will NOT be accepted. Here is our mailing address:

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than 13 February for internal review.
- OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Waseda University
- The FINAL decision is from Waseda University
IMPORTANT NOTES
- In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
- In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
