Greeting from China!

The CAS-ANSO Scholarship (hereinafter refer to as the Scholarship) is one of ANSO’s major approaches to promote regional and global capacity building. Each year, up to 100-200 Master’s and 300 PhD candidates will be sponsored by the CAS-ANSO Scholarship (Degree Program) to study in the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) and institutes of CAS around China.

We are pleased to inform you that the application for The CAS-ANSO Scholarship 2026 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

Application Guidelines

 

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Undergraduate or Graduate students who wants to pursue a Master or PhD Degree in China
  2. Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  3. Be proficient in English and/or Chinese

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  1. Official Academic Transcript
  2. English Language Proficiency 
  3. Applicants for programs instructed in Chinese must provide the photocopy of HSK certificate (at least level 4) (if applicable)
  4. Letter of Enrollment from Faculty
  5. Letter of Nomination from Faculty (addressed to the Head of Office of International Affairs UGM)
  6. Two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors (with phone number and email address)
  7. Curriculum Vitae
  8. Motivation Letter
  9. Colored Copy of Passport
  10. Confirmation Letter of Participation (download) 
  11. Passport Size Photo 
  12. A study or research proposal (no less than 1000 words)
  13. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (download in the Annex)
  14. Photocopy of degree certificate and academic transcripts for both Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree (if have) notarized by Ministry of Education or equivalent authority in your country
  15. Those who plan to obtain their degrees should submit a Pre-graduation Certificate to ensure that they will complete their study and obtain the degree by July of 2026.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than 20 January 2026 for internal review.
  2. OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to The CAS-ANSO Scholarship and you may proceed to the online application no later than 31 January 2026 (Beijing Time),
  3. The FINAL decision is from The CAS-ANSO Scholarship. 

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
