Greetings from South Korea!

Kangwon National University (KNU), situated in Chuncheon, South Korea, stands as a prominent institution of higher learning with a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1947. Nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of Gangwon Province, KNU offers an idyllic setting for academic pursuit and personal growth. Renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and innovation, the university provides a diverse array of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs across various disciplines, including humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, business, health sciences, and arts.

We are pleased to inform you that the application for the Kangwon National University Short-term (in person) Korean Language Program is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

  • This is a 2-week intensive program designed for foreigners who want to learn the Korean language and experience Korean culture. All classes and activities will be conducted in English.
  • Program Period: January 6, 2026 – January 19, 2026 (2 weeks)
  • Fee: $700 USD (Airfare is not included)
  • Fee Includes: All program activities, airport pickup on arrival day, accommodation (dormitory & bedding), weekday meals, insurance, and souvenirs.
  • Activities: Basic Korean language classes, temple stay, winter sports (sledding), Seoul tour (Lotte World), Taekwondo, K-beauty class, traditional Korean cooking, and more!

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • You must be a high school graduate or higher.

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  1. A recent ID photo (passport style, clear background)
  2. A scanned copy of your passport’s photo page
  3. A copy of your high school diploma (or higher academic certificate)

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Apply directly to KNU. Kindly refer to Online Application Form.
  2. The deadline is 28 November 2025.
  3. The FINAL decision is from KNU.
